The Cavs select a young swingman that turned it on pretty well for the Knicks at the end of last season:
Wilson Chandler
very nice pick this late, he's a quality prospect == much higher than about 30 or so that have been taken thus far (George HIll, McGee, etc.)
"Much" higher? Is that why McGee was taken 5 spots higher (albeit in a later... but also deeper draft)? I am just interested to know how you are confident to say Chandler is a much higher prospect than McGee, when even real life GM's swing and miss on prospects taken outside of the lottery about 40-60% of the time, if not more.
Besides, McGee was drafted for need and because of his great potential.
c'mon.... so Arenas or Monta Ellis aren't as good as someone else b/c they were taken later?
Chandler's a higher prospect IMO, b/c in 16 games as a starter in the NBA (albeit with the Knicks) he averaged 9.3 pts, 4.7 reb, and nearly 1 block.... So he's proved he can play.
I believe McGee is generally considered a project --- one with good but not "great" potential... I didn't mean to single you out. there were many other young folks (Weaver, even Giddens and Walker (though they get a hometown pass i guess)...
