Mavs select Troy Murphy

Jazz select Beno Udrih

very surprised beno slipped so much, solid pick.

in fact, same goes for troy murphy. 2 solid picks there.

I had Salmons & Beno 1 & 2 for my first pick this round.  I guess I technically needed a PG, but I think Salmons is the better player.
Yup

The Washington Wizard's today announced their staring lineup for next year

C: Andrey Blatche
PF: Shawn Marion
SF: Andrei Kirelenko
SG: Rodney Stuckey
PG: Raymond Felton

6th Man: J.R. Smith
7th Man  : Sebastian Telfair

Coach Eddie Jordan expressed his satisfaction with the picks made today by General Manager KCatthestripe. " He made some bad, really bad, decisions to start the draft but has really pulled it together and put together a team I think 'The District' can be proud of."

Jordan also said that, " Picking up Andrey was a great move in our opinion. In a reserve role last year he averaged 7.5 points, 5.5 boards and a blck and a half. We feel that in starters minutes, in the style this team will play, next year Andre will be a 12.5 pts, 8-9 boards 2 blocks player. Those rebounds and blocks hill be huge for us because they will ignite our transition offense. Andray is an underrated passer and transition runner for a big man, both of which are a boon for us. Also, how can you turn down having  two different spellings of 'Andre' in your starting line up".

Jordan also commented on the Telfair signing " Sebastian has been in the league 3 years and this past season averaged almost 10 points and 5 assists last year. I don't know what more you want from a back-up point guard."

When asked why Stuckey would be starting at SG over Smith, Jordan responded," We felt that J.R. as our 6th man would make us more adaptable when we did have to sub. He can come in and give us scoring at either SF or SG."

Philadelphia-AP-August, 8th 2008

With the 76ers current roster a new system of play called 6'8'' ball will be implemented.  The style of play will be similar to that of small ball, or it could be called small(forward) ball.  With 4 players measuring in at 6'8'' the 76ers feel they can create certain mismatches on both ends.  As of now the starting lineup will be:

PG: Mo Williams
SG: Stephen Jackson
SF:Shane Battier
PF: Carmelo Anthony
C: Chris Wilcox

6th: Andres Nocioni

As of right now the strength and conditioning team is working very hard with the 76ers top 6 picks for running style of play.  The 76ers look to mimic the success of the 2007 Golden State Warriors in the 2008-2009 Season.

I think people should be allowed to start, it will give teams plenty of time to evaluate their upcoming picks and trades.

I have some interest in moving either of the 6th rounders.

Asking price:  For the 6(7), I need to stay in the 6th round.  For the 6(20), I can fall back into the top ten picks of the 7th.

I'm also interested in moving my 8th and 11th rounders, as I won't be available on either Wednesday or the following Monday.

Well, since there's nothing going on. Does anybody have the link to last year's draft? It would be cool to see it, again.

We had a problem with our archives, and all of last year's draft stuff was deleted, unfortunately.

The Bucks select Marreese Speights

"We'e got big plans for Marreese. He's a live athletic body. He's a banger with a lot of skill in the paint. He can hit the 15-18ft jumper. We can't wait to work with him and we feel he's going to be able to give us an inside presence that's gonna complement what we have here very well. We love both Marreese and Brandon and feel they can be a big part of our future but also contribute as soon as next season as well."
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...
