So eliminate the picks in the same round and you get:

Portland trades: 10th (23), 14th (23)

Oklahoma City trades: 1st (26)

Explain to me the logic on this very suspect "veto" system...

Clever...  but eliminating  those picks in the  same round defeats the purpose of the whole trade.

I don't see how you argue (in your  case) moving  up 6 spots from the 4th round, #2 to the third round, #26 (six slots) was worth several additional picks, but that moving up 15+ slots in the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, and 15th was worth nothing.  That's a total of 105 draft positions switching places, plus two late round picks.  I'm not sure if it's worth a late-round #1 (beauty is in the eye of the beholder), but it's worth a lot more than you're giving it credit for.

I know but they missed today entirely and am wondering if there has been even more fallout over losing Lebron.

ok, so here was my thinking...

1) I wasn't thrilled by the prospect of my late first rounder and felt I'd get similar value out of my early 2nd rounder.  My first pick is my first pick, so what's the difference if I drop down a few spots.

2) I did see a fair amount of value in moving up 15 spots in a bunch

3) I thought it was a "fun" trade

4) I thought it might be ok to have some fun

5) I actually did have fun making the trade

6) I'm not taking this thing nearly as serious as others apparently

7) I liked the idea of having most of my picks be at a similar time because I'm kinda busy and thought the relative closer to uniformity of it all would be in some way helpful to my biddy little brains ability to maintain a schedule

Anyhow...Arguing over this league is the last thing in the world I want to do.  I don't have the energy to get upset about this league - and I will not.

I suggestion everyone lighten up or leave.  It is a non-competitive league by the best of my understanding.  There's no money involved.  There's no standings.

...maybe it's time for another TP Pageant...

Robb stepped down, and cordobes hasn't been available.  We should know the status of the franchise later, hopefully.

I thought the trade was fun, as well.

What *wasn't* fun?  Updating the dang draft board afterward.  What a mess.

(Also, presumably it won't be fun for the rest of the  league as the Trailblazers run roughshod over every other franchise for the next decade, but I digress.)

Thanks Roy.

Wait, did Redz say no money was involved. I thought I could get like $10 from Clipper fans if I built a fantasy team that finished 8th in the West since they've had so little success. I'm sure Malcolm in the Middle said he'd do so in his last email.  ;D ;D

So how does a 'winner' come out of this?  Does the blog then vote on the 8 best teams from each conference (giving 8,7,6...1pts to each rated team) and the pts teams get determine seeding, then people vote on who wins each series until we have a champ?  Or what?

We really didn't get past anything more than some subjective analysis, discussion, and debate on the draft discussion threads.  There was talking of simulating the rosters but that never came to fruition.

There wasn't any final, ooncrete winner.

I think we can all agree that Boston won last year.  Celticsblog?  Boston?  Yes, I think so.

I also think we can all agree that Portland is the team of the future.
