So I take it I lost my franchise? I was out doing field work that took much longer than I expected.

Charlotte, NC -- After the first round of drafting, the Charlotte Bobcats have acquired the rights to the following players:

PG - Deron Williams
SF - Shawn Marion
C - Yao Ming

Bobcats General Manager, LarBrd33, said the following, "We didn't expect Deron to be there at #8.  We had good word that he would be taken 5th, but some earlier drama in the first two picks caused Deron to fall to us.  We are ecstatic about this.  We had Deron Williams ranked as the 4th best player in the draft behind LeBron, Dwight Howard and CP... and we would have been h appy with either CP or Deron.     Yao Ming was another surprise.  Earlier this week we traded the rights to the #11 pick for a later 1st rounder.  The fans were outraged about losing out on the prospect of Yao Ming.  When we saw the 2nd most dominant bigman in the game waiting for us with the 2nd pick, we HAD to take it.  Any time we can add a dominant big man in the middle of the 1st round, we have to take it.  Shawn Marion at the bottom of the 1st round was also a pleasant surprise.  We felt that Marion's experience working with Steve Nash would be a perfect compliment to Deron Williams.  The guy can give you 20, 11, 2 and 2 on 50%+ shooting.  We felt he was a steal at the bottom of the 1st round as he consistently ranks in the top 10 of the league statistically.   We have the makings of an interesting core here in Charlotte and the fans should be exciting for the upcoming season."

Listening to offers for the above three players ;)

Milwaukee, WI-

After taking their 1st round pick Josh Smith, Bucks President and GM confirmed that they are indeed listening to offers to move down further into the 2nd rnd in exchange for future picks. The franchise also announced the signing of Assistant Coach Donnie Nelson to the staff.

Nelson was unavailable for comment after stuffing himself with cheese.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

Memphis won't be able to return calls until after 7pm but there is interest within the front office in moving down, but not out, of the 2nd round.

The team currently holds the 6th pick tomorrow, 36th over all, and has minimal interest in picks outside the 5th round. The Grizzlies picks in rounds 7 through 12 are also available.
