So now that TAllen and Eddie Money are back in the fold (very happy with this, btw), how much can we spend on a potential free agent?

Let's assume that the reports are fairly accurate and we used half of the MLE on House. Is our only option using the other half of the MLE? I believe we cannot combine the LLE with the MLE. So does this mean we have a couple of different options as far as offering a contract to a free agent? How high can we go?

If Walker makes the team, we have 14 right now. There's room for one more addition (or two if he is cut). I'm curious what kind of ammunition we have left to recruit a player.

Kurt Thomas.... do you want to win a title?  Come play for the minimum.

I assume Boston still has $2.8/1 or $6/2 to dangle at the most.

I'm still interested in names like these to get more size, experience:
Finley
Thomas
Wells
Ross
Miles
Horry (maybe)

They have 2 to 3 spots left.  (the sudden G depth makes me wonder if Pruitt is expendable now)

Thomas is still my number one choice.

And I would like to see them get a SF that can both shoot and play a few minutes at PF.

Or what's left of the MLE.

Alonzo Mourning might not be a bad P.J. Brown-like addition come the winter if Thomas doesn't want in.

I wouldn't mind Miles, Wells or Ross.  Finley and Horry are done.  I remember in the playoffs Horry couldn't score in 3 straight games and the Spurs bench gave then nothing, nada, zilch.... and that included Horry and Finley.

Horry and Finely are on the done side.

Of that list, Thomas and Ross looks like the only ones you know what you are going to get every night.

Ross is no longer the fit the team needs with TA.  They need some sort of shooting.

While Miles worries me because of his health and lack of shooting range, he might be the only real shot to replace Posey.  He has the versatility to at least play all 3 front court positions.

He could play all three front court positions (not really, he could not be a C)

But can he now?  He is a giant question mark.  He had doctors deem his career over.

While I don't want to get into a lengthy debate on this, Miles probably could play some 5 given the fact that we've played the likes of Powe, Baby, and KG there over the past year.  Miles certainly has better length than the first two and (at this point) isn't any skinnier than KG.

But I agree that generally speaking we wouldn't want to see him there for long minutes.

Yeah. Ross is probably out.  :'(

He's barely got enough size to swing to the 3. Oh well.

And horry does seam to be done. Finley still has a little something left I think.... but I agree, not much.

why NOT quentin ross?

i know he isnt as big as posey, but he is an excellent defender. he is longer than allen, so he should be able to guard some of the taller sfs than tony.

i know he had only 21 attempts, but 43% from 3 is good and he can keep imroving.  he just needs to work on that corner 3 and he could be a good bench player for us.

Globe is reporting that House's deal was for $2.7 mil of this year's MLE.

Hoopshype is listing O'Bryant's contract as $1.5 mil, but I haven't seen confirmation anywhere on these figures, or whether the money comes out of the MLE or the LLE.

At most, I believe the Celtics have the remainder of the MLE, about $2.8 mil to offer to another FA.

theres too many options for this guy for him to really want to come all the way here. you never know how good a new orleans, or even san antonio could get, he could go there for the same reasons.
