here is the link to a great article about Chris Andersen's entire life:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=Andersen-080511

judge for youselves
Yep, we've all read that article about a mom that abandoned her son after he didn't buy her a lamborgini and a 1m dollar house.

Andersen I think is a mistake.

The man has not played NBA competitive basketball in over 2 years.

He had 1 decent season.

He can't shoot, he can't shoot free throws, he can't post up, he has no face to the basket game, he has never played defense well within a system, he's not a physical defender, and he carries demons and baggage with him whereever he goes.

So he's an athletic big man. What the hell does that mean? He can block shots and rebound against second stringers? We need more than an athletic big who has no other form of game. We need someone with Kurt Thomas, Dikembe Motumbo, Alonzo Mourning, Theo Ratliff type of midset. A true professional that is a defensive warrior, big, and can be a second string garbage guy and show the leadership that this team needs on it's second unit. A basketball version of a Teddy Buschi type middle linebacker.

u took the words out of my mouth nick!

I just wanted to add a story to the Logan "scoop" by SSHorefan.  A while back we somehow put two and two together and somehow figured out that we had gone to 9th grade together back in the 80's!

We ended going to a playoff game together - which was pretty funny to see each other and after 20-something years.  Anyhow...I was at home when I got a call from my store tonight saying a guy (who could surmise was SsFan had called and needed to speak to me).  I got his # and called.  SSFan was calling because he need to share his Birdman sighting but had no way of posting it. I had to disappoint him by telling him my home computer was down for the count after a sad meeting with a flash of lightning had rendered it useless.

So I hung up, then had a revelation.  I could call my shop and walk one of my employees through posting it on CB.  Don't ever let it be said that I am not unwilling to make myself an utter geek to my employees for the benefit of offering fresh news!  My faithful employee did a fine job with my dictation  (though I edited some caps later).

So here I am now, back out to close up the shop (and mainly using the excuse to have one last peek at a functional computer before retiring for the day).

That's my exciting story.

Teamwork at its finest.  TP to SSFan when I get a chance.

Makes sense.  I'd be ok with having him here for the minimum as long as he didn't snort all the ubuntu.
  ;D  Nice!

Yeah, I'd be okay with him too.

Is this guy any better than Scal?  Sure he's more athletic but that's about it.

The return of the birdman:

And the obligatory youtube mix to overhype players:

He at the least should be a fun player to watch.

looking at his stats, i tend to lean more towards cmoney nick, looks like 3 or so solid seasons.

assuming he's taking the vet minimum to get some rep back, he can have the 12th or 13th seat on our roster in my book.

heck, he can even take over "planet pollard"

bring on "The birdmans roost"

I don't care if Andersen IS a mistake.
Turns out he's half Danish so I say sign
him and do it now. Maybe it'll create a few
more Celtics fans here in Denmark, where there
are so many Kobe lovers it's quite disgusting.
Besides, we share the same last name. With an "E"  ;)

TP to Potapenko Boxout ffor sharing the story.

Does he have a shot, or can he only dunk.  Geez, what a terrible mix.  It shows nothing of his skills.
