I like Anderson a lot as a big, we should try to sign him -- he's undervalued right now. Two years ago he was one of the best big man reserves in the league.

At the point, I like Ty Lue. He plays solid defense, he can shoot like crazy, and he's friends with Doc and KG. Good ballhandler. He's a little small, but he's solid. Much better as a point guard (and even as a shooter he's not worse) than Eddie House.

If we picked up Anderson and Lue by splitting the MLE, that would be a great haul. And we'd probably still have money left over. Lue we might be able to get with the biannual, I'm guessing.

One thing, though. If we don't resign Posey -- and it looks like we won't -- we definitely need someone who can come in and play defense against big 3s and perimeter-minded 4s. We don't have anyone like that right now we can use off the bench. Giddens and Walker are both a little small for that job. So who's left? How about Najera? Or James Jones? Somebody like that.

I can see where the Cs are coming from in hesitating to give Posey all that money. He's way overvalued right now because of his playoff performance. A multiyear commitment at 5.8 million is way too much for a guy who only scores 7 points a game, is one-dimensional offensively, and is already 31 years old. The same way it'll be a mistake when Dallas forks over the whole MLE to Diop because they were exposed in the middle against Duncan in the playoffs, it would be a mistake for us to overpay Posey because he had a good finals. He was a very valuable player, but the full MLE is too much.

Why do you think that? Anyway, assuming Posey doesn't stay, we may look at guys like Pietrus, Barnes, Najera, etc. I don't think you have to touch the MLE to sign AndersEn and Lue. Probably the LLE + min salary is enough.

There's an article in today's Eagle-Trib reporting that Posey's agent is furious; apparently the Cs have told him he's not getting the full MLE and that we won't be entering a bidding war for Posey's services.

Golden St. going after Brand.
So to recap, La signs Davis turning to the Warriors and giving them a big middle finger. G-State turns around and says o yea and then attempts to return the favor, good times.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I stand by my statement.

In case I wasn't clear:  your statement was unacceptable.  We don't allow posts like that here, because by their nature, they're demeaning.  You can disagree with somebody's point of view without labeling it as "dumb".  Many others have been able to do so, and I'm sure you're capable, as well.

Everybody should stop the bickering, now.

Conspicuously unintelligent; stupid:
Thats the google definition.  Is Conspicuously unintelligent better?

One more post of this nature and you're banned.  Not suspended.  Banned.

Ban, verb: To expel from a community or group.

That's the google definition.  I hope that's sufficiently clear.

I think it is doubtful Brand coming to Beantown. Not the he cannot afford a BIG HUGE pay cut, but because his spot is already taken.

The problem with that article is that it's obvious the guy writing it hasn't directly heard from ANYONE involved, not Posey, not his agent and not the Cs.

I can believe Ainge has made it clear he's not going outbid other teams for Pose, but NOTHING in the way Celtic ownership has behaved supports the idea that they're fanatical about lessening the luxury tax bill.

I like Diop a lot, what do people think he is going to command in the market? Half the MLE or maybe even the LLE?

Rumor has it that Dallas will offer the full MLE.  I wouldn't pay nearly that much.

Yep. Diop has an unofficial agreement with Dallas for the full MLE.

Here is the textbook example of how teams spend themselves OUT of title contention.  I'm not saying Dallas doesn't need someone like Diop, but who else was going to give him that deal, does it make any sense to spend that much money on that sort of player when you're in luxury tax land, and why would Dallas completely take themselves out of the running for anyone else this off season?

While we're on the topic, if we were to give Posey the full MLE for just 3 years, what money is available for House and/or TA?  House and Posey split the MLE last year.  I don't see House coming back for just the LLE---he's worth more than that.  Is there some bucket of $$$ I'm overlooking?

For a decent 7 footer than can play defense, the MLE is not a lot of money, imo.  Good deal for the Mavs.
