Chris "Birdman" Anderson is visiting Danny today in Boston.  Think he will be signed as our back-up 5?  Very athletic, similar to Perk.  I'd do it.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
i'm kinda torn about this...i believe anderson could really help this team, but is it really worth the baggage?  is he rehabbed?

lots of questions, obviously.

we'd love to have alonzo mourning, but we can't get everyone...if either posey or maggette (or both - longshot) show up the money train eventually runs out.

anderson is a financially safe option, provided his past is left in the past.

Being Danish, I strongly resent calling
Chris Andersen "Anderson"  ;D
Anderson means "son of Anders" which is a
very common Scandinavian name.
"Sen" means "søn" which, in turn, means
"son" in English.
In Denmark and Norway we use "sen" (or "søn")
and in Sweden they use "son" because that's
what it's called in Swedish. Usually with
double-"ss" as in "Fredrik Olausson" or "PJ
Axelsson"  ;)
Oh, well, now you know...

being drug free and sober, i resent the fact this kid has destroyed his life and has a trail of broken relationships behind him... ;)

Woa, sorry about that. My bad, Andy.  Being Polish, I'm prone to spelling mistakes.

i was jokingly responding to Amager's response...

but i agree with your original topic - if we had guarantees that anderson's life is turned around then i'd do this.  he is an amazing athlete for a guy that tall and would definitely make coach thibs a happy man...

but the problem is that there are no guarantees that this kid can handle the stuff that comes with success - fame and finances.  that's the part that scares me.

I've never seen it spelled
"A-N-D-E-R-S-E-N" anywhere.
You're forgiven, footey  ;)
I'm just nitpicking.

Ah, come on now Andy. The "E" is far to
the left of the "O". You're doing that
on purpose  ;D

LOL - i didn't realize that is how he actually spells his name...

i'll just call him Chris.  :)

(sounds like blasphemy to call him "bird"man...)

Is he Physical enough to play backup Center for the C's? With Powe and BBD, what we really need is a big body defender at C who can play in case Perk is injured or in foul trouble, when the apointents have a Center or PF that we don't want to put KG on, and Powe is too short for.

I disagree with this. He's athletic, but not similar to Perkins. It's more a PF kind of athleticism than something close to Perkins' massiveness. I'd rather have PJ - who has the respect factor, including from the refs, that allows him to play over-physically in the paint - than Andersen as a backup center.

If he's got his head together it could definitely work.

I just hope we plan on getting more than one big man. I'd like a big man who can step out a bit like PJ.
