We need a back-up center.  What would happen if we were to meet Shaq in the Finals and Perk has to sit in foul trouble.  Are you really going to let your whole season rest on BBD or Powe to guard him?

We need another big body center.

PJ Brown will be in a green uniform when the playoffs start in 09.  Write it down on a piece of paper, bury it in your backyard under the apple tree, dig it up in the spring and read it again as fact.

I agree.  I've heard or read what I took as hints when Danny says that he'd love to have PJ back, but he's leaning towards retirement.  Doesn't sound like much, but my first thought was that he'd stay in shape and Danny would call him mid season if he is needed.

I don't get it.

Powe and Davis are way better backup Centers than all the others being discussed around here.

Am I the only one who remembers Baby manhandling Timmy Duncan in Texas, or Leon beasting all over the Lakers to the tune of 21pts on the biggest possible stage???????

Also, let us not forget that PJ is on ice, staying fresh for our next playoff run.

Backup Center just isn't an area of need for this Celtics team.

No, Powe and Baby are not better backups than the guys being discussed. Baby can play a few minutes at center, but not Powe.  The Celtics have NO backup center right now, so not sure why you think one is not needed. ::)

Well, they were our primary backup centers all year, and we won 66 games.  Call me crazy, but that works for me.

If you would prefer the Birdman fresh off a full season of pulling tubes in his basement, then I guess... well I am speachless acutally...

Actually, we had Pollard for the first part of the season, and then we had PJ.
No way do we get past Cleveland if we did not have PJ.

A lot of the time we went small and put KG at center with Posey at power forward, and that worked sometimes, but still   :-\  :P

I want to keep KG away from the center position at his age.

That is a bit mis-leading.  Pollard played like 2 games, and one was pre-season.  PJ didn't show up until playoff time.

I just don't see the need to committ a roster spot to another backup C right now.

I would rather keep a roster spot open and add PJ next March, than commit his roster spot to someone like Chris Anderson, who hasn't played meaningful basketball in his entire life.

Have some patience, PJ will be there for us again in the playoffs.  Just like Detroit dusting off Lindsey Hunter last year for their run.  Thing is, we don't need him (or anther big) until then.

I bet we go after Birdman, and then sign players at backup SF (Posey, Maggette) and PG (House, Lue, W. Chocolate), and keep the roster like that. We would go into the season at 14, and if Brown (or anybody else) would be needed later, we would sign him. But I think Birdman would exceed expectations. He is very underrated defensively.

NO ME GUSTA the Birdman.  Besides we need someone better at center.

We want to keep Clifford Ray, not scare him away.

Folks, Perk just had his third surgery and we have undersized power forwards and no backup center.  Garnett needs to stay at PF.

The draft has come and gone and we have spent all our time and possibly money on wings, when Devon Hardin could have stepped right in as a backup center.  Also, we passed on Super Mario, who would fill the point guard backup.

Pietrus could fill in for Posey if he bolts.  But by golly, please address our glaring needs first!!!
