The question is: what do you hope our 12 man roster looks like on opening day? I'll try to be realistic.

Perk, Camby,
Garnett, Baby
PP, Posey,Giddens
Ray, House, Walker
Rajon, Pruitt

We don't have the salaries to acquire Camby, unless you envision Tony Allen making enough money to make it happen. I don't see it, and no way Denver agrees to it.

Yes obviously we sign and trade TA. Sam is talking to Denver too because he and Karl are friends. We'd need to restructure other contracts. We'd be over the cap, I get it. This is the near perfect 12 man roster and it can be done. Afraid Danny might have to have a large phone bill? Not my problem;>)

We get Camby and we will be the greatest defensive team of all time the next two years.

I'd like to win two more in a row. Get Camby. Beg, borrow, steal. I am not worried about our point guard, i really think House was fine and lets give Pruitt some run. But getting a stud like Camby who also needs a title, to be able to come in when Perk gets in trouble? Camby and Kg down low?? Just send us the trophies because its over. You cap guys will say its not possible and I don't believe it if we really went after it. Denver is already talking about sending Camby for Chicago junk. Camby needs on the floor with KG. SWEET!!

so are you saying trade TA, Scal, and Powe for Camby?
I wouldn't give up Powe, we havent seen him at his best yet, i'd much rather give up Baby.
I also don't understand why you have Walker at the 2 and Giddens at the 3... you got those mixed up. Plus Walker won't be ready for opening day.

I would hope for...
Perk/Magloire
Garnett/Powe/Baby
Pierce/Posey/(Walker to D-League)
Allen/Giddens/House
Rondo/Lue/Pruitt

and leave one spot open for a mid year signing.

Lue is a very bad option for us, especially if we keep House. I'd rather have Tony Allen with House than have Lue in the team. It's either Lue or House, don't want to have both. If we get House, we better have a big guard capable of playing PG. And that's currently Tony.

I didn't put much thought into that, I agree with you completely I'd rather have Tony running the point than Lue, he has the ability to be great on defense and explosive on offense at times. Maybe after getting one year in on the knee and a little summer rest he'll be back to his old self next season.

Tony is a disaster waiting to happen at the PG position.  Why on earth would you put a guy who doesn't distribute and has high turnover rates at the PG position?

He's a good ball defender and slasher, but his issues are only amplified at the PG position.

yeah i know its worked in short periods this year when rondo was out but i do not prescribe to the "tony at pg" option ever. id rather house be brought back and if not house, anthony johnson. that said i really think house and pruitt will be fine as backups.

at center id LOVE zo...as would danny who to his credit calls him every offseason to ask him to come play here. every season zo has turned him down. i see this offseason being no different on either front of danny asking or zo declining. outside of zo, id like kurt thomas, or francisco elson. but if not those guys chris andersen and jackie butler are certainly worth the look.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

this is a big "i wish"

pg:rondo-hunter/house
sg:allen-giddens/house/posey
sf:pierce-posey/walker
pf:kg-powe/bbd/posey(small ball)
c:perk-mutombo/bbd

thats 13 but is say some of the vets gets a few games only during the reg season but will take one of the youngs spot when playoffs start

i say small ball works better when our pg is house and not rondo

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
I keep reading people suggesting BBD + Tony + Scal for a center.  What team is going to accept that package for any center who isn't overpaid and terrible?  BBD is extraordinarily inconsistent and is still a short power forward with weight issues, Tony is a defensive role player, and Scal has negative trade value.  I can't imagine getting anything at all for that, and otherwise reassonable people make it sound like Danny could turn that into an impact player.  I don't get it.

Anyway, in terms of a 12-man roster to start the year, I'd love our starters plus Posey, Powe, BBD, Duhon, Mourning, Giddens, Pruitt.  That team could use more size, but we don't have a lot of options available.

All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino

I'm gonna do a 15 man

PG: Rondo/Sergio Rodriguez/Pruitt
SG: Allen/House/Giddens
SF: Pierce/Posey/Walker
PF: KG/Powe/Baby
C: Perkins/Frye/Birdman

This takes into consieration that TA will leave via free agency Scal was traded for Channing Frye and Sergio Rodriguez.  While Portland does it.  They need space on their roster and they are overloaded at PG and center and Scal is another aspiring contract/asset and Pritchard is fond of those and at third string PF it doesn't hurt anything.  That is a championship roster.

You can always offer some picks, etc. to a rebuilding team. They get young players in Tony and BBD. BBD is also an expiring contract, small, but he doesn't give a financial burden.  The idea of finding a Center is not really that we find the back-up center we need, but simply a body to add depth, while improving our roster flexibility and hopefully our financial situation just the same.

What about Mikki Moore or Brad Miller in Sacramento? I think Sacramento would be willing to take a look at this, especially if they part ways with Ron Artest.

What about Stomile Swift in the Nets? I think the Nets might take a look at this trade, especially if they are planning to part ways with Vince Carter.

What about Seattle and one of their Centers? I think they have some depth problems in their SG position, they could use Tony.

I don't know, I'm sure various opportunities are around. Anyways, Scal won't make our 12-man roster so we need to find a way to trade him. If we find some capable centers, with Powe in here, BBD becomes more than expendable, and then there's Tony who should facillitate any deal involving those two. At worst, we keep Tony who I think can still help this team in various ways.

When did Pritchard get a lobotomy?

If Pritchard trades multiple young guys, it will be to get better players, not to be charitable t the Celtics.
