I keep reading people suggesting BBD + Tony + Scal for a center. What team is going to accept that package for any center who isn't overpaid and terrible? BBD is extraordinarily inconsistent and is still a short power forward with weight issues, Tony is a defensive role player, and Scal has negative trade value. I can't imagine getting anything at all for that, and otherwise reassonable people make it sound like Danny could turn that into an impact player. I don't get it.
You can always offer some picks, etc. to a rebuilding team. They get young players in Tony and BBD. BBD is also an expiring contract, small, but he doesn't give a financial burden. The idea of finding a Center is not really that we find the back-up center we need, but simply a body to add depth, while improving our roster flexibility and hopefully our financial situation just the same.
What about Mikki Moore or Brad Miller in Sacramento? I think Sacramento would be willing to take a look at this, especially if they part ways with Ron Artest.
What about Stomile Swift in the Nets? I think the Nets might take a look at this trade, especially if they are planning to part ways with Vince Carter.
What about Seattle and one of their Centers? I think they have some depth problems in their SG position, they could use Tony.
I don't know, I'm sure various opportunities are around. Anyways, Scal won't make our 12-man roster so we need to find a way to trade him. If we find some capable centers, with Powe in here, BBD becomes more than expendable, and then there's Tony who should facillitate any deal involving those two. At worst, we keep Tony who I think can still help this team in various ways.
