Forget about the 15-man roster for a second, and let's focus on the guys that will/should actually play on a consistent basis.

Here's my hopeful roster:

Rajon Rondo
Eddie House
Gabe Pruitt
Ray Allen
Tony Allen
J.R. Giddens
Paul Pierce
James Posey
Kevin Garnett
Leon Powe
Kendrick Perkins
X Back-up Center

What does this mean? I hope we can trade Davis and Scal to get us a useful center. If needed be, include Tony Allen (which would change my 12-man roster a bit), but Scal and Davis need to go and hopefully land us a good Center, or at the very least give us a bit more roster flexibilty and better financial situation.

Now, I'm assuming that the confidence the Celtics have on Pruitt as a back-up PG is warranted. If it's unwarranted, then another back-up PF/C doesn't hurt or finding a more capable back-up PG.

So, what's the 12-man roster you want to see on opening day?

I like Tony Allen but I'd let him go. Let him establish his career elsewhere because it's not happening here as a backup behind Ray/Paul/Posey. Giddens can take Tony's role.

I'd let Scal muscle in on Tony's spot in the 12 man team. Maybe BBD depending on the type of bigs faced that night.

I want Posey and House to stay too and for a backup center to be signed.

TP. Time to cut Tony loose and replace him with a smarter player. Giddens might well be that. Love to have Zo if PJ retires.

I can understand that (I hope he goes via trade though). But, just because I'm curious of how it'll look, I'd love to see a line-up that has Tony as the point, Giddens at the 2, Posey at the 3, Garnett/Powe at the 4, and Center/Garnett. And I'd love to see a line-up that has Rondo at the point, Tony at the 2, Giddens at the 3, Posey at the 4, and Garnett at the 5... I think a small lineup like this can be very effective.

Ohhh - I like yours better! isn't this fun? I mean it's important who we get, but we all know the C's are going to be one of the top teams NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO!!!

I second this, that would make a already tough defense tougher for sure. ;D

Haha yeah it's even better when you don't have to worry about the salary cap or paying the luxury tax.  This is what I'd like to put on the court simply from a basketball standpoint.  I also think this roster could be put together from a financial standpoint.  I'd love to see that pesky Hunter as our backup PG.  He can run an offense and can defend the point of attack.

Could you imagine our defense if Alonzo Mourning or Dikembe Mutombo joined us......... wow...... either one in there with KG and no one is going to drive the lane......

I'd like Anthony Johnson to take Cassell's place on the team.......

I also wouldn't mind Scot Pollard coming back

other than that, our team should be exactly the same

first off, I remember some comments on abc about how Hunter stated he would like to retire a piston and had been very upset when he was briefly traded to the celtics in the past, I don't think he will come here. This is what I think our roster will actually look like on opening night:

PG: Rondo, House, Cassell (yes I think he's coming back, like it or not)

SG: Allen, House,

SF: Pierce, Posey, Scal

PF: KG, Powe, Davis, Scal

C: Perk, Zo

and here is how I hope it will look:

PG: Rondo, House, Udrih

SG: Allen, Giddens, House

SF: Pierce, Posey, Giddens

PF: KG, Powe, Davis

C: Perk, Zo

obviously mutumbo is a reach but thats who i want this offseason.

pg: rondo, cassell, house, pruitt
sg: allen, jr. giddens
sf: pierce, posey, walker
pf: garnett, powe, scal
c: perk, mutumbo, davis

i do like the fact that we're worrying about man #10, 11, and 12 off our bench and not one of our starters. that's taken for granted sometimes.

The question is: what do you hope our 12 man roster looks like on opening day? I'll try to be realistic.

Perk, Camby,
Garnett, Baby
PP, Posey,Giddens
Ray, House, Walker
Rajon, Pruitt

I'd like to win two more in a row. Get Camby. Beg, borrow, steal. I am not worried about our point guard, i really think House was fine and lets give Pruitt some run. But getting a stud like Camby who also needs a title, to be able to come in when Perk gets in trouble? Camby and Kg down low?? Just send us the trophies because its over. You cap guys will say its not possible and I don't believe it if we really went after it. Denver is already talking about sending Camby for Chicago junk. Camby needs on the floor with KG. SWEET!!
