Are you ready for the longest 24 minutes of your life?

This half will seem like an eternity, unless of course the C's go up by 40 -- then it will be pure joy.

BTW -- with Davis' performance tonight, I can say that EVERY Celtic (with the exception of Scal) has made a meaningful contribution in this series (Sam played very well on Sunday).

  • You know my methods, Watson.
was it a closeout playoff game against philly back in '02 where the celtics ended up with a 40+ point lead?  i hope this game turns into a 50 point route (and if the fakers have cashed it in, it's not out of the realm of possibility).

when scalabrine checks in...

I thought Scal was on the injured list and couldn't be played? I could very well be wrong.

By long 24 minutes you mean long 90 minutes right? :)

There's no way the Celtics give up 23 points and lose a title clinching game. It's just not happening.

The Lakers hopes of making a run are abysmal. Kobe Bryant isn't playing well. Odom has done absolutely nothing to create a shot for himself or a teammate tonight. Gasol has done very little. None of their perimeter role players are showing up. They're not passing the ball well, they're not moving without the ball well. They're not shooting the ball well. They're not getting stops, they're not rebounding. Where exactly is a run coming from? There's no run happening from there. I don't see how they can turn all that around, make back 23 points, finish the game against a top side who's about to clinch their first title. It's just not happening.

Try this from Lakersground:  K"obe is garbage. Practically every Celtic is outplaying him. That is pathetic play for a so called MVP. Why don't they just give it to a cat?"

Love this from the other site:

I feel SO BAD for Kobe that he cant have a team like MJ or Lebron.

A team that DIES on Defense and REbounding.

That would SLIT its throat before they let someone out D them and out Board them.

What a PATHETIC DEFENSIVE TEAM

What a PATHETIC REBOUNDING TEAM

You look at the Cavs...Lebron shot 2/18 with 10 TO's in ONE GAME and his team was leading by 2 with 1 minute left.

Lebron shot 35% for the SERIES And the series was almost lost by the Celtics.

WHY???? Because of D and Boards.

What a weak arse team man. Phil Jackson is the WORST DEFENSIVE COACH EVER. John Bach was his Tom Thibedeau in Chicago. John Bach is now dead.

I love the way you talk  ;D
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Outstanding half of basketball.  Pure.  They did almost everything right.....

Steals...Scrambling for lose balls...Rondo's insane energy....Powe powering off the bench....KG shooting lights out....Pierce
in the zone.... mammoth defensive stops....FTs...offensive rebounding....sheesh!  Just incredible!

This is it gents.  As Paul said at halftime, they have to keep their pedal to the metal!

Two sides of the other side:

The Classy:
"Maybe we can go on a 20-0 run..that's it..Celtics are just a better team..I tip my hat off to them..they clearly deserve this championship(believe me it hurts me to say that but doesn't this game prove it)"

The Not:
"Put Mbenga in to flatten Garnett. At least make him celebrate in the trainers room."

Bleeding green for 36 37 years.
"Maybe we do suck. But at least we don't wear yellow."

I want this game to finish with Tony Allen, Big Baby, Scal, Eddie House's kid, and Steven Tyler on the floor.

Win the third. Then it's done.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

A great game, and a great game thread. I have to thank Celticsblog, and everyone here right now. In New York, this site and this community have been my Celtics lifeline.

Here's to an equally strong second half, and a Lakers trouncing!!!!!

"One more Cs." "It's right there!"
