Here's an interesting article on how the current state of the economy could affect this summer's free agency.

How do you think this will affect Danny's plans for this summer?  I really think we should pursue Sasha Vujacic this summer.

interesting article, its funny, with all the money that gets thrown around (and justifiably made) in the league, you wouldn't think they'd have these problems, now the real question for fans is do ticket prices and concession prices go down next year?  For some reason I highly doubt it.

Stern probably thinks the NBA is the entertainment version of gasoline and is recession=proof.  Ticket prices go up, up, up!  I mean... who's going to pay for all those fancy commercials!  Besides, the NBA Cares!!!

Nice article, although I don't buy the gloom and doom forecasts about the US economy. Maybe a quick and mild recession will happen, but you only need your government to cut some wasteful spending and curb the earmarking addiction and you'll be fine enough.

Sasha won't leave the Lakers unless he goes for the full-MLE or something close. Even if Posey doesn't opt out (and I can't see how he won't), he's going to be too expensive for us. We can't fill the roster properly with the LLE and min vet salaries.

Sasha = Jiri Welsch - if Jiri was on the Lakers (or the C's) he'd produce at a similar rate, and be overvalued thanks to the limelight
