I'm about as tired as one person can be this morning and I don't care!!

In the matter of about one hour I went from "I can not believe I was looking at the clock counting the minutes to watch this piece of trash game" to "I hope I never forget every dribble, pass, and shot in this game". What a difference one hour can make in one's life and apparently in one's favorite sporting team.

For about one hour and 15 minutes I was actually embarassed to be a Boston Celtic fan. The largest first quarter deficit in NBA Finals history!?!? A 12 point deficit brought back to 18 at the half in a matter of 20 seconds and a prayer of a three pointer because no one wanted to even attempt to jump in front of or even near the walking grease pit that is Sasha Vujacic.

The halftime lovefest for the Lakers and watching that now-I'm-here-now-I'm-not scrub Lamar Odom holding and staring at the Larry O'Brien Trophy was sickening.

I almost went to bed.

Almost.

Something said "You are a Celtic fan with Celtic Pride. Stay up and watch this because you know deep in your heart the Lakers can't match up with this Celtic team if they decide to play another awesome half of defense.

And they did.

Kudos go out to Big Game James Posey, Eddie House, Leon Powe and PJ Brown who were simply immense in this game. Kudos go out to the Big Three who earned their monika in the second half by playing collectively like the machine they can be. Kudos goes out to the Lakers for laying down like the dogs they are. And kudos to Doc Rivers who may be coaching better than I could have ever imagined he could. And I'm a Doc supporter, as you all know.

Pierce was unreal on Kobe in the second half and showed why from this point forward he will be mentioned as one of the games current greats.

Posey hit clutch shot after clutch shot.

KG was the inside presence we have always seen him to be.

Eddie came up big when Rondo couldn't.

Rondo was gutsy and brave giving this team everything he could.

Ray was Sweet Sugar Ray with that jumper and had the most Michael Jordan like, hang time, reverse layin, I have ever seen from someone not named MJ, Kobe or LeBron.

Doc's small ball was vindicated as a real weapon and his use of the bench and motivational speeches caught on audio were exactly what the Doc ordered.

I'm dead tired. I don't care. I cut myself shaving. I don't care. My 13 year old decided to become a major pain in the backside this morning. I don't care. I have to wait until Sunday to watch the C's again. I don't care. My dog just ate my glasses(true story $350 down the drain). I don't care.

Because the hour that was the second have has made that much of a difference on me this morning.

Life in GreenLand is very good this morning. Better than it's been in a log, long time.

tp for you nickagneta.

unlucky about the glasses, i too have had some rotten luck but nothing seems to be more important than this highly improbable win.

now take this feeling, imagine it x100 if we win sunday...

The best part about the comeback is that now the anti-green mafia over at ESPN, NBC, TNT, etc. will not be able to mention that deficit without also mentioning that the C's came back in the second half and tore through the Lakers like a bad case of the runs.

I got up at 3:45 am CET to watch
what I knew would be a thriller.
I made a cup of coffee and greeted
our three cats (The Small Three, if you will)
who would be my only company in those very
early morning hours.

I turned on the TV and in a few seconds I was
just shellshocked. Celtics down by 20 and the
Danish commentators are going on about how the
Lakers are just killing them, mentioning the
21-point 1st quarter lead.
Nothing is going in and Paul is looking like
he's going to crash any second.

So I figure: Why not just go to bed again?!
By now, the coffee's beginning to work and
my mind's also beginning to work a little bit.
I'm thinking, "I'll stick with it, even though
they could lose by 50. There's a Game 5 just around
the corner, maybe the Green can finish well and
gain some much-needed confidence."

Halftime comes and Farmar throws in that desperation
shot, and in doing so, puts an exclamation mark on
the first half.

Then all of a sudden, the D is working again, Kobe is
missing shots and whining continuously and I'm beginning
to think that our boys may actually have a chance!

James Posey is suddenly Big Game James, Eddie's in the House,
Paul is waking up and doing the little things, Ray is just being
Ray and KG is like that great piece of duct tape holding it all
together.

I must say that from then on, I don't really remember that much.
Maybe I just couldn't believe what I saw. The Lakers once again
not being impressive and the Celtics making me so proud I had the
goosebumps the rest of the game. I wanted to stick my head out the
window in joy and just scream but had to settle for a quieter
celebration.

I've been so tired all day and then again not. I witnessed NBA history
and I'm so happy I didn't go back to sleep.

My Laker friend, who lives in the Dominican Republic, wrote to me
on MSN that he would go to sleep and have nightmares about this game.
You can't really blame him, can you?
His Lakers got run over by The Mean Green Defensive Machine.
And I got to watch.

TP for the thread, nick!

Great post, Nick.  I AM A FOOL!  My 13-year-old son watched the whole game -- I did not.  At least I saw the end of the third quarter and the entire fourth quarter.

Thanks, maestro.
I've had 5 since last night.
People must be happy  ;D

I usually write this way but my
posts are not usually that long.
Maybe that's why it looks a poem.

I just had a lot on my mind and
to be a bit corny, I'll dedicate
this victory to the memory of my
father, who died 2 months ago.

This game taught me NEVER to give up!

The Celtics definitely has the momentum going for the clincher on Sunday... They also knew that they can overcome a large deficit and still win... This Laker loss is really demoralizing and I don't know if L.A. can still play basketball...
