Do the Celtics have different rims than anyone else in the league?  On Sportscenter tonight they aired quick clips of Odom and Vujacic and they both said because that was only their 2nd time in Boston all year, the rim is definitely something they have to get used to.

Are they serious?  They didn't look to be joking around.  Do the Celtics have different baskets in Boston compared to other teams in the league?

Just thought that was kind of funny,

Well, Phil Jackson will have to watch Hoosiers again and come out before game #2 with his tape measure.

Yes they do. They have actual defenders between the shooter and the  rim. That's what makes the difference.

Wait a minute.... They aren't playing the Nuggets anymore? What will they ever do!

Haha, Brick.  I was thinking the exact same thing; I was looking for that scene on youtube.

I think what they meant was that our hoops are different from the rest of the league's because the hoop itself is extended far from the base, as the espn clip showed the basket length-wise for a few seconds while sasha spoke.  I'm not sure if the "difference" is even true, though.

I'll wait for The Legendary Lakerlanny's opinion on this "Rimgate" thing. The undeniable truth is that right now we're 11-1 playing with those rims in the playoffs. How's that possible?

Wow! And the excuses keep coming ... I've truly never seen anything like it! (Sad) If we lose any games to the Lakers, let's do our best to not take the same (low) road.

Eh, I will give the Lakers the same benefit of the doubt that I give the C's.  The media is sometimes rediculous about running with things like this.  My guess is it was a throwaway comment.

I will say though, if I were a Lakers fan right now, I would hope they would just stop talking to the media, because they are being made to look pretty stupid.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
i think that rubber band on vujacic's head is a little too tight if he's making claims like this... ::)

I saw a lot of credit going the Cs way...awful sensitive for a team that just won.

It is a fact that some rims are tighter than others.
