Call your NBA Finals MVP now , what you think their averages will be and what team wins the Finals,

I say it is going to be KG. His Defense against Gasol and Odom will put us over the top. I say he averages 20ppg, 12 rpg, 4apg,  2 bpg, 2 spg 50% + shooting

Celtics in 7

Whoever picks the right MVP gets a bunch of TP'S

  • Let's Go Celtics
Ray Allen.  24 PPG.  50% from 3-Point Land.  Believe in the sleeve!
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

The obvious choice would be Paul Pierce, but since a whole bunch of people will pick him and likely no one will pic Ray. I'll make Ray my pick to play the averages and if I'm right I get all the TP's! Instead of splitting them with everybody who will pick Paul (who is the obvious choice)  I'd do the inverse if I thought the Lakers would win and I'd pick Odom over Kobe who is the obvious choice for them.

I just get the feeling Pierce is going to have a monster series.  Everyone talks about who can stop Kobe.  Who on the Lakers can stop Pierce?

I was really, really tempted to go with Sam Cassell to see the reaction but I've got to go with KG.

  • Yup
KG.  He's been the teams high scorer and rebounder all playoffs.  He has a nice matchup, and if the Celts are going to win this series he's going to have to take full advantage of it.

KG 25+ ppg, 11 reb, 4 ast per game

MVP

Celts win win win!
Yup

ok First, the MVP will be Paul Pierce, that's the TRUTH!

I bet he'll average 20-21 ppg, 6 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl... which will be plenty considering our victories will be TEAM EFFORTS.

(added TPs for me if Rondo has a key steal or Posey hits a critical 3 pointer in the last 3 minutes of game 6 or 7 to finish off the series!)  ;)

I know this is off topic, but I found it interesting. (To be honest I don't know how to start a new topic)
Also I am not really reading anything into this, but like I said I found it interesting.

There is an ESPN.com poll right now that asks who will win this series.  (54%-46%for Lakers right now)  What I found interesting was the state by state breakdown. Obviously the Northeast is for Boston and the West for LA.  However each state that represents a Laker or Celtic playoff opponent has the vote as a tie or a Laker advantage.

Utah          Tie
Texas         Lakers 56%
Colorado      Lakers 57%
Ohio          Lakers 59%
Georgia       Lakers 58%
Michigan      Lakers 68%

I am not sure if that means that Eastern opponents hold grudges, or if they think they know better, but I just found it interesting.  I expected to see each Conference support their own.   ???

Pierce,

1.) He's stepped up everytime when the c's have needed him to (Example: Game 7 Cavs. Will Go down as an all-time great playoff performance)

2.) He is gonna have a blinder tthis series. Homecourt hero in Boston, Hometown Hero in LA.

3.) This series is going to be all about Kobe v Pierce. Without fail the Bird v Magic comparison will be made (though not needed).

4.) It's his time to earn an accolade like this.

5.) Red's Ghost is gonna haunt stern if this doesn't happen!

I think Kobe will be MVP but Boston will win.

Has there been a finals where something like this has happened? As in an MVP was chosen on the runner's up roster.?
