Well Rondohondo, I think you're right in thinking K.G. is going to go off against these guys for the Finals MVP averaging: 24ppg, 11 rpg, 4apg,  2 bpg,  54%  shooting

Of course, Paul will have a few monster games but i believe he will avarage a bit lower in points total but instrumental drawing fouls and defering for assists while playing exhaustive smothering coverage indeed heavily contribuiting in those instrumental intangables worthy of the MVP if not outright winner...

All of course in the effort securing #17 in 6 (or possibly needing 7)  ;)

Whoever picks the right MVP gets a bunch of TP'S

Even if it's me??  ;D   Kobe Bean Bryant aka the Black Mamba.

I don't want TP's. Listening to Tommy Heinsohn is punishment for burglary in some 3rd world countries.

Good call, of course you could substitute Danny Ainge and say the same thing.

I think Paul Pierce will get it because he always plays well against the Lakers.

i'm torn in 3 directions. i can see Rondo going crazy and establishing himself firmly as the next j kidd (averaging a triple double for the series). Call me crazy, but this kid is a triple double waiting to happen.

in all likelyhood, i think Pierce will deserve it - as he will hoist the C's on his back when they will need it the most. He'll have a fantastic all around series, but at the end of the day, I think KG's points will be higher and he'll probably average a double double so he'll get it while Pierce just gave the NBA a lesson in how to man up, play team ball, and win.

at the real end of the day, though, I dont care if Big Baby takes the mvp trophy home. i want the celts to win.

  • The good ole days.
Pierce.  He is the one guy the Lakers really have no answer for.  KG will be double teamed quite a bit and will facilitate/defer to Pierce.  I'd love for KG to win it, but I think it's in the Celtics best interest that Pierce be the go to guy.  Ubuntu.

I do think that if the Celtics win, it will be because Pierce is the driving force. The only guy who can defend him, aside from Kobe, is Trevor Ariza, who hasn't been a part of our rotation throughout the playoffs due to injury.

Who votes on this thing?  If it's the media, I'm saying Kobe Bryant, despite a Celtics sweep.

Kobe will average 40 ppg on 26% shooting, the Lakers will go down in flames, and the media will ooh and ahh his every move.

Yup ... you're right, Roy ... I was being far too optimistic, or unrealistic, I should say. Kobe's gonna come out of this being the hero, whether they win or not. Getting really sick of how the media strokes this guy ... how quickly they forgive and forget, about unsavory behavior and motel rooms ... now he wears a halo. Unbelievable.
