well, doc isn't playing nice anymore. seems like this game was just too much to take. good. Afterward, Celtics coach Doc Rivers was still fuming over some calls he felt went against his team.
''Tell the refs to do the interview. They were just as important,'' an angry Rivers shouted at a team official as he walked back from the postgame news conference.

Looks like a fine is coming Doc's way.

Interesting to see Mr. and Mrs. Wyc sitting courtside tonight as well.
God bless and good night!

The officials only *mattered* in this game because of Doc's poor judgment in rotations.  His manic/bipolar rotation decisions are baffling.

I'm curious, though.  Which official forced Rivers to play Davis for 17 minutes tonight?  Is it the same official who forced him to keep Rondo in there while he was cracking under the pressure instead of bringing Cassell in to see if he could settle things down a bit?

What makes anyone think for one second that it is a coincidence that not one team except Detroit has won a game away from home? Yes, the officiating was horrible tonight and cost us the game. Any time there is as much of a discrepency in foul shots, you could start to question the officiating. But, come on, the NBA is a business. It is pretty obvious that these refs are told to make series go 7 games. There is just way too much of an economic incentive for David Stern not to make sure that these series go on for as long as possible. It is a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.n joke at this point. I think we will win in 7 and I'm sure that we will advance on to the finals. There is just way too much money involved for David Stern not to make sure that we see a Celtics vs. Lakers finals. I wonder which team he'll choose to have win that series? Unbelievable. What a joke!

The charge on Pierce, the lack of a traveling call, the lack of a goal-tend, and 25 FT's to our 13?!? A lot of blame to go around in this one, including Doc and the team, but you can't deny that this was a horribly officiated game! That charge call should be reviewed by the league ... that was the most blatantly absurd call I've seen all year!

Isn't the rule that if the ball is on it's way DOWN you can't hit it, not on it's way UP?! (If it hit the glass before getting blocked by Delonte then it is a goal tend) I couldn't ever tell for sure, but it would have added 1 point. Not the difference maker but another bad call by the refs.

EJ, usually, yes, but the rules are slightly different when the ball hits the glass.  If it hits the side of the backboard and is below the rim on its way down you can grab it because it's a rebound.  Otherwise, off the glass it's a GT, even if it's still going up.

Right. I know that. Once the ball touches the glass it is a goal tend. What the previous poster said however was that because it was on its way UP it was a goal tend. Once it hits the glass it doesn't matter. If it didn't hit the glass then UP is the right time to block it.

The refs ruined a really good game with some BS calls. I was going to go ply by play but I'm not going to waste my time. We'll win game 7.

?

Who was it who called 5 fouls on Davis in 17 minutes, only 1 of which was legitimate? And Who can blame Doc for not going to Cassell, wehen Cassell is a ballhog, terrible defender, and something like 0-21 spanning games 5,4, and the end of 3? Like the threads title says, don't even try to tell me that the officials didn't decide this one.

The officials didn't force Davis to be slow moving this evening.  They didn't force him to use his phone book vertical to try to get above the taller and more athletic Cleveland defenders, and they didn't tell him to take 8 mostly bad shots.

Still does not take away the fact that the refs made alot of bad calls. Cavs did not play very good either but got away with alot more the the Celtics did. I have no problem with refs if they call things on both sides evenly. They did not do that tonight in a close game. The refs deserve a high amount of criticism. Celtics were not perfect but refs were just as bad/ or worse imo.

I disagree with you. Davis did not take bad shots. He grabbed offensive boards, and put the ball right back up. Thats not bad. He got banged every time, so he missed. No calls. Thats on the refs.

He didn't deserve calls, and his shots were terrible.

Oh, I'm not saying the officials didn't impact the game.  They clearly did, and it certainly wasn't in a pro-Celtics manner.  I'm simply pointing out that there is plenty of blame to go around. Perkins, Rondo, Rivers, Davis, even Garnett (has he developed an allergy to the low post?), among others, contributed to this Boston loss.

The officiating was horrible to end the game, but it was even worse to start it.  The C's should have been up 10 about 7 minutes in instead of being tied.

- How bout when Ben Wallace knocked Rondo down (should've been a block), and then leaned over him but never got a hand on the ball and they called a jump.

There are more such instances in the early going, but they are slipping my mind now, but I remember 5 horrible calls.

Also, 5 or so minutes to go, Big Baby has position on Ilgauskas and goes up for a one handed rebound ... and loses it out of bounds.  Why one hand, you ask, cause freaking Big Z had his hand pinning Big Baby's shoulder down.

I usually don't blame the refs, but they clearly cost us 15 or so points tonight.

We got one call in our favor that I remember ... when KG charged over Ben Wallace and it was called a block.
