Correct. Brown is an all NBA player and it feels like Brad is having a hard time finding any takers. Maybe I am wrong but other deals are coming together quickly around the league.

I mean I would be VERY disappointed if this is the return we got for Brown. Naz Reid and an unprotected first 7 years from now? Those swaps honestly might not even fire. There is a good chance (both historically and with current team makeups) that Minny has a "worse" pick all 3 years.

I get that, but this only checks one of those 3 boxes. It has pick swapS. One unprotected first 7 years out, and a good veteran isn't a younger prospect don't check the other two boxes.

What an awful awful trade for Minnesota. One of the worst trades in a long time. Charlotte was probably biting their tongue trying to hold their laughter that can get rid of that loser LaMelo and get that return. That hornets GM is in contention of executive of the year already. How long till Ant wants out ? Won?t be long .

I think it's the complete opposite. Minnesota just got a potentially All NBA capable player for a bench player, an unprotected pick in 2033 and 3 second round picks. As for the 3 first round pick swaps, that's assuming Charlotte will have a better record in those years to convey.

Yeah, Hornets fans are p---ed about this trade on Reddit. Many want the GM fired.

I wonder if Charlotte trade Miles Bridges. He would be a good 6th man for BOS. Backing up Jaylen & Tatum. Or if Jaylen is traded, a replacement as starting SF. Naz Reid could then start at PF for CHA.

No forwards with size other than McDaniels.

They could even start Ant at SF and then start Dosunmu too. That would give them a tremendous amount of firepower. Open up that offense. A completely different type of team. They have Jaylen Clark (SG) who can step up and give backup SG minutes. Yeah, I like that better. Bring T Shannon off the bench as a backup SF.

That team would be very difficult to play against. Lots of speed & athleticism. Lots of ball-handling. Lots of shooting. Gobert & Beringer holding it down in the middle.

I kind of like this for both teams. Obviously it opens things up for Charlotte and gets rid of a player who might've held them back. For Minny, they were going to have to reset things anyway. Lamelo potentially makes Ant more dangerous since things are going to be a little less predictable. Ant needs another threat to open things up for him. Probably not a recipe for long term success, but a decent shake up for the next couple of years.

Rudy Gobert (in his mid-thirties) is now the only playable big on Minnesotas roster. How can they expect to win with this team?

Ant finally has some ball-handling & playmaking help. You now have 2 creators on either side of the court. So if the opposition loads up on one, swing the ball weak side and let the other attack a collapsing defense. They will be extremely difficult to contain.

This probably makes it more likely the Hornets keep Coby White on a long term deal, so that's likely not gonna be an option with the MLE

I like them going small with McDaniels at PF over starting John Collins who is likely the best they can do. I also like them going smaller than playing Tari Eason as a starter. I do like Eason as a bench player.

A player that was holding them back? He was the engine that made the team go.

Kneuppel?s shooting is top-tier and Miller has the pieces to be a quality wing talent. Neither can match the overall impact of Ball running the offense. He was the conductor of Charles Lee?s scheme. Most of their plays start with Ball running a pick-and-roll and seeing how the defense reacts before deciding to shoot, drive or dish it out to one of his talented teammates.

Charlotte?s offensive rating dropped like a rock from 125.22 to 113.30 per 100 possessions when Ball left the court, reflecting the roster?s lack of a backup point guard as well as Ball?s importance to making the whole system work. He opened up the floor for his teammates and was the guy to pass them the ball when the defense showed cracks. The team did pick up a possible replacement in Christian Anderson in the first round of the draft. But relying heavily on rookie point guards is almost always a fool?s errand. Particularly for an organization that just got a taste of contention for the first time since Kemba Walker was in his prime.
