I don't think this trade really changes anything in the West.

It feels like Brown has absolutely zero interest on the trade market.

Because this one happened so quickly?

Correct. Brown is an all NBA player and it feels like Brad is having a hard time finding any takers. Maybe I am wrong but other deals are coming together quickly around the league.

Or maybe some trades just take time? Or maybe he doesn't want to trade Brown?

There are more views that the absolute most negative possible.

Ball and Edwards are both bigger personalities. I wonder about their fit. Still, Ball will probably be the best player Edwards has played with.

They are really leaning on Gobert and Berringer now.

Here's how a four-team BKN-CHA-CHI-MIN trade that lands LaMelo Ball with the Wolves could end up looking.

(The Harvey draft rights are just the "something" to satisfy touch rules. Could be cash, 2nd round pick, etc.)

Rudy Gobert (in his mid-thirties) is now the only playable big on Minnesotas roster. How can they expect to win with this team?

This is an odd move for both teams from a roster standpoint. Hornets were the hottest team in the NBA during the second half of the year. LaMelo was a huge part of that. He was playing really well. Now the Hornets have no point guard.

T-wolves traded away both of their PFs. I thought they wanted to move Randle to allow Reid to start. Now both are gone. LaMelo will take pressure off of Ant as they won?t be able to double him as much with Ball on the court. I don?t like the trade for either teams roster.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Keith with some good stuff.

Some cap mechanic stuff from what will be a four-team trade between BKN-CHA-CHI-MIN:

🏀No more $33M TPE for Julius Randle from the previously agreed to three-team trade. Wolves will instead use Randle's salary in aggregation to bring in LaMelo Ball/Josh Green
🏀Wolves will trigger a second-apron hard cap due to aggregating Randle and Naz Reid's salaries. Roughly $16.3M under to fill 4-6 roster spots.

Wow, is this a better net haul than the Giannis trade?

I mean I would be VERY disappointed if this is the return we got for Brown. Naz Reid and an unprotected first 7 years from now? Those swaps honestly might not even fire. There is a good chance (both historically and with current team makeups) that Minny has a "worse" pick all 3 years.

What an awful awful trade for Minnesota. One of the worst trades in a long time. Charlotte was probably biting their tongue trying to hold their laughter that can get rid of that loser LaMelo and get that return. That hornets GM is in contention of executive of the year already. How long till Ant wants out ? Won?t be long .

I think it's the complete opposite. Minnesota just got a potentially All NBA capable player for a bench player, an unprotected pick in 2033 and 3 second round picks. As for the 3 first round pick swaps, that's assuming Charlotte will have a better record in those years to convey.

Still think TWolves ceiling is probably a 2nd round exit.  Maybe a WCF appearance if things break their way with injuries but I don't think see them as a serious title contender.

Yeah but this does not make me feel any better:

"There is some belief that the Celtics front office would consider offers based more on younger prospects, picks and pick swaps for Jaylen Brown."
