Do folks expect the Celtics to make a move early in the free agency period, or is the potential Brown trade a bottle heck that prevents other moves?

The Sacramento Kings are trading guard Devin Carter and a future second-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks, sources tell ESPN.

Wow, talk about selling off a recent late lotto pick on the cheap. I wish Brad had of acquired him. I love his defense. He is a jump-shot away from being one of the great glue guy guards in the league. Well worth taking a shot on.

And Atlanta? ... they just drafted Kingston Flemings and have CJ McCollum. And NAW. D Carter won't even play there. He might have played here. Dang it!

Also a Devin Carter fan, but at the same time he is entering year 3 and has not shown nearly enough for his $7.4 million option for 2027 that the Hawks will have to decide upon by the start of the season.  Someone I was interested in if we had the salary space, but much more important to keep until JB is sorted out or we have signed a big in free agency.

They need to get this sorted before free agency opens. They will miss out on a huge number of opportunities if they do not. Most big name FA options are gone within the first week. Often the first few days.

So I am expecting a conclusion within the next 24-48 hours. Either Jaylen goes or Jaylen stays. And we move forward with a plan for next season / for FA either way.

That has been my question also. Do they approach FA like JB is going to be here? Do they wait on FA risking getting anyone?
