The Bucks do not like the Heat deal. If they did this would be over with by now.

Now I do not think Stevens trades Brown at all and he tries to bring in fringe pieces in FA to help but it would be very very concerning going into the regular season with Queta and Garza as your center depth.

I love JT but him coming back is not going to solve all the problems. Brown is not going to have another regular season like his did (and he usually disappears in the playoffs). So you are stuck with the same mix, the same issues, the same tired play style and the same first or second round exit.

If it doesn't happen today either then I really wonder if MIL is just gonna hold on to him through the draft and into July. Like others have said, I don't think the Heat offer has changed and I'm sure potential 3rd teams have been looped in and discussed. If they still haven't agreed, MIL must not love the package or are having second thoughts about trading him. To my knowledge, Giannis hasn't formally requested a trade himself either.

Also if the Celtics did offer Jaylen, and 3rd teams like POR/ATL are involved and it's been offered, then again, idk why it hasn't happened yet.

Maybe they have a deal they will accept, but are pushing it until the last second (draft night) to try and squeeze any extra value they can.

If it doesn't happen on draft night, all bets are off. I'd imagine getting picks in this year's draft is a pretty big deal to them, so I'd have no idea what they are planning to do then

It seems to me that the MIA deal was pending flipping Herro for something that MIL would take.  The reporting indicates that they have gotten that piece resolved.  So they have the MIA deal in hand and they are going back to BOS to say OK, this is what you have to beat.  I don't think MIA can do any more. It is down to a question of if BOS (and maybe others) are willing to beat it.

The complicating factor for BOS is that they need a 3rd team involved.  I am not sure if it is BOS that is going out to these 3rd teams and asking what they will give for Brown or if it is MIL that is doing that shopping.  My guess is that BOS is offering Brown and something but maybe not working on the 3rd team for this.  Who knows.

In any case, I suspect that BOS has said Brown plus maybe a pick, (maybe also offering Hauser for Portis) and MIL is saying Brown and a pick plus more.  And the stare down continues.

That is a surprise money wise. Only 1 year. Only $21mil at 1yr. I would have thought he would have gotten more if he was signing a 1yr deal. He surely could have gotten a 4yr full MLE at around $60+ million.

Keith Smith: One note (that likely will not matter) on CJ McCollum's contract being an extension vs a new deal: He's immediately trade-eligible with no waiting period once he's signed. A new contract signed in July would have come with a December 15 trade restriction.

Jake Fischer: CJ McCollum has a 7.5% trade kicker in his one-year, $21 million extension to stay with Atlanta, per source.

The Phoenix Suns and guard Jordan Goodwin have agreed to a three-year, $19 million contract. The deal reportedly includes a player option for Goodwin on the final season.

Goodwin is coming off a breakout season in Phoenix. The 6-foot-3 combo guard averaged 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals in 22.5 minutes per game for the Suns a year ago.

Phoenix originally claimed Goodwin off waivers after the Los Angeles Lakers waived him last July.

I still cannot believe LAL let him go last summer. Had a very good season for PHX. One of the better defensive combo guards in the league and he can shoot.

Shams Charania: In consecutive days, the Suns land multiyear agreements to keep two young guards in Goodwin and Collin Gillespie whom the franchise developed over the last year. Goodwin's agents at Klutch Sports, Shy Saee and Mike George, landed the deal Sunday, a week after free agents became eligible to negotiate with their own teams. Next order of business for the Suns: retaining restricted free agent Mark Williams.

Hmm, it was also reported that the contract includes a 15% trade-kicker (should McCollum be traded).

Perhaps the timing of the contract (being signed before July) was of zero consequence to the Hawks because they have no intention of trying to trade him this season.

Or maybe it just gives them a smidge more flexibility in case they get an offer they can't refuse for him?  And the kicker would be their way of giving him a "thank you" for dealing with being traded.

Oh, I copied and pasted the same thing twice in my post above. The 2nd tidbit was meant to be the trade kicker. I saw 7.5% by Jake Fischer. You saw 15%. Either way, McCollum got a trade kicker just in case.

Yeah, I imagine it is only in an "offer you can't refuse" type scenario. They seem highly committed to him.

The Thunder are finalizing a trade to send guard Aaron Wiggins to the Hawks in exchange for two second-round picks, per Shams Charania.

The Thunder are finalizing a trade to send guard Aaron Wiggins to the Hawks in exchange for two second-round picks, per Shams Charania.

Curious if the picks are good or not.  Wiggins makes $1.8 million less than Hauser next season, and is not as good, so this feels like an absolute floor on what Hauser could fetch if the Celtics move him to create more flexibility.

EDIT:  Picks do not seem great (ATL 2030 and lesser of ATL/LAL in 2032).
