Darryn Peterson has retaken the top spot in ESPN's final 2026 NBA draft rankings, pushing AJ Dybantsa down to No. 2 just days before Tuesday's draft, according to ESPN's Jeremy Woo.

Darryn Peterson seems to be in the mold of SGA, Haliburton, Derrick Harper (in time).  I have no idea who is going to be better or even if this report is real.  It is just hard to know.

Assuming for a second the Giannis stuff falls through, I do wonder what the C's plan is at center. Queta was good last year; the problem is he just can't play that many minutes due to fouling and workload. I think I'd aim to bring in 15-18 million dollar center to essentially split the position. Like Wendell Carter Jr, Daniel Gafford. Then you get 48 minutes of better than average starter center play split between two players where the guys can just go hard for 6-minute stretches.

With the news from Dolan that the Knicks will not exceed the second apron, it seems highly probable that Mitchell Robinson will be available in free agency.  I would happily have him as the platoon for Queta, and he seems like he will cap out at the MLE.

I imagine Mitchell will be offered somewhere close to the MLE by someone.  If not, it might be smart for Brad to offer enough to put the Knicks over the second apron in order to keep him. 

Worst case would be for NY to resign him at a number that keeps them below the 2nd apron.

There was a Celtics reporter talking about Mitchell Robinson maybe going to Boston for the MLE. Maybe it was Chris Mannix. Not sure who it was. But they were saying Mitchell Robinson's medical reports are not good. They are a problem. Even at the MLE.

I think he gets the MLE but it might be more of a 2-3yr deal rather than a 4-5 year deal.

Woo wrote that NBA teams have not expressed concern over Peterson's long-term health outlook. Scouts continue to view the 19-year-old guard as a future star, with some comparing his game stylistically to Devin Booker.

"The more I've learned from various league sources about Peterson -- most importantly, hearing about NBA teams' current comfort level with his medicals -- the more comfortable I feel viewing his season as a one-off," wrote Woo. "I'm focusing on his special traits that point to stardom and are worth whatever the perceived risk might be."

DraftExpress' Jonathan Givony joins Woo in ranking Peterson first over Dybantsa, while The Athletic's Sam Vecenie has Peterson third, behind Dybantsa at No. 1 and Boozer at No. 2.

Oh that is interesting. Givony with D Peterson at #1 as well.

It was an idea floated around by Scoop Jackson.  Not a rumor.  Article mentions many reasons why it's unlikely.

The Celtics have gone to great lengths to avoid the elephant in the room here, but Jaylen Brown would need to be part of any deal for Antetokounmpo.

And if Boston had its way, it seems, the conversation would start and end there with a one-for-one swap of fellow All-Stars who are still in their respective primes (Antetokounmpo is 31; Brown is 29). Lest anyone forgets, Brown is coming off his best season yet, finishing sixth in MVP voting.

It?s unclear if the Bucks would look to build around Brown as a centerpiece, as many rival executives have recently predicted, or perhaps rebuild by sending him elsewhere for young players and picks.

But whichever path they might select, it?s widely believed that Brown alone wouldn?t be enough for Milwaukee.

I don't think Giannis warrants more assets on top of Jaylen. He is 32yo and been injured in 3 of last 4 postseasons. Jaylen is far more dependable.

Isaiah Joe would be gettable at a lower price. I don't think that is a deal for Isaiah Stewart.

If they traded Isaiah Stewart and cut Duncan Robinson ($2 million guaranteed) they could offer Reeves about $35 million in year 1 while also keeping Jalen Duren?s cap hold.

So I don't want to trade for Giannis, but am I tripping. I'm reading a bunch of posts on social media acting like Herro is more valuable and worth more in a trade than Jaylen Brown? I'd love for someone to explain that to me. Even factoring in contract and age, I do not consider Herro to even be a Top-50 player in the NBA currently.

People are acting like the Heat offer is equal if not better than if the Celtics + a potential 3rd team offer Jaylen + picks. Again, I don't see it at all.
