As I try to ignore the Knicks fans in my life and read/listen about the draft the trade landscape has been an interesting side note to ponder.

First I do not think Stevens splits up JB and JT coming off what was supposed to be a down year while JT got healthy.

I do think there is an outside chance we see White moved in an effort to capitalize on his likely peaked value.

Without claiming any deep understanding of the current CBA I do think the Cs/Stevens will play it smart and target staying under the lux tax for another season. This likely signals smaller moves aimed at maximizing the roster without taking on crazy amounts of money.

Moves I can see happening

Hauser is traded to shave off $$$ and open up minutes for Bayor/Hugo/Walsh.

On " The Game Theory Podcast" it was speculated that Hauser to Detroit for #21 would be about the max draft capital value for Hauser. This opened up the door for me to ponder the following trade scenario.

move #1 Giannis is traded to (insert non-Celtics team)

move #2 Celitics trade #27 to Bucks for Bobby Portis

move #3 Celtics trade Hauser + 40 + 2027 1st to Hornets for #18 (if Hauser alone could net #21 shouldn't Hauser +#40+2027 1st net #18?). This feels like a great spot in the draft to grab a slipping lottery talent.

I don't know that Hauser alone could get #21.  Either DET or CHA would need to have a means to accept Hauser's salary without sending something back.  Neither has a TPE large enough, I don't think.  But if BOS could trade Hauser to DET for pick #21 and a TPE, I would do that in a second.  Or even a future first round pick (which might be more realistic).
