[dang] he's insufferable:

"I'm not the most liked player in the media, I'm not the most liked ? at times I'm not. I'm not the most liked by the fans. So I'm not surprised. Some of the things I say and do is a little bit controversial, so I'm surprised that I win any awards at all at times"
Maybe but I also don't know that he is wrong.
of course he is wrong

The wrong in this is that the NBA had a 65 game rule and decided to grant 2 exceptions to the rule. If they had not granted the exceptions, Brown would have been first team.  I am not saying the NBA did this to target Brown, as he seems to be saying, but I can see how he would feel the process was not entirely fair.

Also, I do not think there is anything factually wrong in what he said.  He is not most liked by the media.  I think that is generally true.  I do not think he is hated, but he is not a media darling, especially at an ESPN.

He is not most liked by the fans.  Again, true.  Jaylen Brown was the star of the Celtics this year.  The Celtics sold the third-most merchandise in the NBA, but Jaylen Brown did not appear in the top-15 most sold jerseys, while Tatum, who missed most of the season, still finished at #4.

He is controversial.  See every thread here.

He is surprised when he wins any award.  Only he knows if that is actually true, but I do not find anything unhealthy in that mindset.

When he acts like an antisemite he's "controversial".

With most of this stuff he's just a whiner.

The question here is if any of this so called controversy affected how the writers voted or affected the NBA process in granting the waivers to Luka and Cade.  Jersey sales and everything else is related but his specific comment was in response to being asked about getting 2nd team all NBA.  I interpreted his comments to say he felt if he was not so controversial, he would have been 1st team.  That is the specific thing I disagree with.

I think almost everything this season has occurred after voting took place.  And honestly, I don't think the NBA cares all that much who ends up 1st Team vs. 2nd Team.

Historically, who knows?  Maybe the voters all wear Nikes.  Or, you know, don't hate Jews.
