Barring a drastic and unforeseen change in the market, the Boston Celtics will have to significantly lower their asking price if they plan on trading him anytime soon. Portland?s interest is ?moderate,? Denver?s interest is ?overstated,? and Brooklyn is ?not engaged at all.?

Yeah I'm seeing multiple reports now that Jaylen's trade value is shot. I don't see the point.

He needs to stay.  Any trade is a step back.  If they wanted to trade for Giannis they needed to go all in and overpay.  They didn't so now they are finding out that JB's value across the league is not as high as they want it to be.  I think JB has done this a lot to himself by battling the media and causing headaches.  His comments come across as selfish.  Look at the return for Ja.  While JB is not on Ja's end of being a headache when you are one your value is less.

This situation is a mess and people are blaming Brad for what is happening but I don't.  He's holding firm on his asking price and should.  They don't need to trade JB and won't just to move him.  I feel bad for JB but he created this situation as much as the Celtics front office did.  We have no clue what was said behind the scenes.

I said this before, teams does NOT want his contract with the apron involved. It?s not about his play, it?s the money. That why I said after losing to Philly he is not going anywhere
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I don't think it's shot in that they couldn't get something for him. If they were willing to take 2 first round picks in a deal I think they could get that.

Its shot in that they aren't going to get the "4 or 5" firsts they've been rumored to be asking for.

If you're getting a haul of 4+ firsts for him maybe it's worth it taking a step back for one year, but if you're just getting like 2 I'd much rather just run it back. We'll see if Brad agrees.

If all we can get is two #1s for him, I'd say his value is shot.  That's less than we paid for 33 year old Jrue Holiday.

Feels like this was always a 2 year retool and 2027 was the time they could really build it back. I think Brad wants Brown's contract off the books for then and wants to have picks to use. He knows the longer he keeps him the less value he has.

Do not think they want to be a 2 guy super max team...and they can't to be honest.

Worst case, the Cs don't trade Brown.  And they don't extend him on a supermax deal.

Just tell him, let's wait and see.

Most likely he'd be in a similar situation to Trae Young in three years, and he'll get a deal for much less than the max.

When Jaylen made 3rd team All-NBA a few years ago, I knew it was a bad thing, since he qualified for a super max contract. It took injuries and players not being eligible for Jaylen to make that 3rd team. I love Jaylen, but not everyone is deserving of a super max. Unfortunately, that contract is proving to be an albatross now. Teams may want him, but they also don't want to have to be on the hook for that super max extension. Another way to look at it, why would any team give up essentially equal value for Jaylen for just the 3 years remaining on his deal, knowing they won't give the super max extension and he walks.

I'd love to see them get rid of the 3rd team All-NBA. Go back to just having the 2 NBA teams like it used to be. The top 10 players in the league. That is a much harder grade to crack. A real difference from being an All-Star (top 24 player) to a top 10 player vs a top 15 player.

That 3rd team has become even more erratic in recent years with the number of injuries in today's game. Now the minimum games requirement which will add to that. There will be undeserving guys every year. Just get rid of it.

Go back to 1st and 2nd All-NBA only.

Think this is what happens.
