Is Jaylen Brown really sacrificing at all?

In what world does he believe he's sacrificing, compared to other star players in the league?

This is a team of 2 stars. That's the usual in just about any team in the league. Some feature more high utility players.

So really, how much is Jaylen sacrificing vs others in the league?

If he's really unhappy with his role here, he'll be unhappy with his role in just about any other team in the league. And if the role in his mind is a role where he does everything everytime, I guess he'll be happy playing in a team that goes nowhere.

I don't think Brown is unhappy here, I think this overblown. Just the same, I don't think this talk about sacrificing has much merit. Everyone in the league sacrifices, and I don't think Brown sacrifices much at all vs others in the league.

This is the same stuff we've seen near every offseason for the last 6-8 years.

-Brown is unhappy
-Brown wants to be the #1 guy
-Brown and Tatum don't fit together

ect, ect ect.

Its literally the same stuff every offseason.

Look, maybe eventually they'll trade Brown (or even Tatum for that matter). But until I actually see it nothing that's happened this offseason is making me think Brown wont be back next year.

So far we've had Brown say he wants to be here for the net 10 years and Stevens say Brown has been nothing but positive. All the noise is, as usual, coming from people who simply do not know anything.

I mean we just saw him have his best season numbers wise of his career in year 10. It's pretty obvious that if he was the #1 guy he could probably put up bigger numbers then he would as the #2 guy. THAT IS A SACRIFICE. Now, if he was the #1 guy he probably wouldn't win as he has s the #2 guy, so you can argue it's a good trade off, and maybe it is. But it's not an unreasonable thought to have.

JB seems to think he is sacrificing a lot. He has said so many times. I do think he could be the numbers one option on a lot of teams, just not the elite ones.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Agreed. This part of JB's personality irritates me.

It is like he wants a medal every time he doesn't get absolutely everything in the world he wants. Doesn't everyone know how unselfish he is? He got only 90-95% of everything instead of 100%? How wonderful am I?

That is reality on any high level basketball team. Sure he can play on a 35-45 win team and he can bump up that extra 5-10% but he'll never play on a contender again. On any contender he will have to sacrifice something ... not a lot but something.

Every other player in the league can do this without needing a frickin' medal or parade through the streets telling him how wonderful he is for sacrificing a small amount.

I do not buy this story.  JB Is incredibly outspoken, and has no problem airing his grievances in public.  Fights with shoe companies?  He will be loud about it.  Olympic snub? Of course we will hear about it.  League awards he is passed over for?  Yeah, he will complain about that too.  Refs?  Sure, despite multiple fines.  But he will instead send Tracy McGrady to agitate about the Celtics?  No, that is just not his MO.

I am sure he has some grievances.  He probably has some about how he is used on the court, he might have some about someone in the locker room, he probably has some about how the Celtics promote him, and he very likely has some about Boston in general.  For better or worse (and often for the better in my opinion) grievances are what fuels him.  Accordingly, I am sure Brad knows about all of them.  Will Jaylen be traded? Maybe, but it will not be because he forced himself out or just made life unpleasant.
