So, Jaylen heard the analytics comments and went on a bit of a tirade on social media today:

Jaylen Brown shared this long video on his Instagram.

Talks about how he was ?the best player? on a championship team.

How he got ?blackballed? by the Olympic team

How the Celtics tried to trade him multiple times.

It's time to move on from him. He's quickly becoming one of the most exhausting and annoying players with his incessant whining and inability to not engage with the noise on social media.

We all saw how this was going to end after this past year, and I just don't see us mending anything over the next couple of months. I'm ready to see what a full-blown JT-led team gets us, which the numbers with higher JT usage and JT/non-JB minutes being very promising.
If he really believes he was the best player on a championship team he is more delusional then I thought.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Jrue Holiday, Tatum, and DWhite made Brown look good on that championship team. He's so full of it. I fear if he's still suited in green next season, he's going to have target on his back.

He has zero handles. Wasted our 2022 run and other valuable runs

That's a bit harsh, but I do agree that the championship was about our core depth of Tatum, Brown, Holiday and White. Where all of them had key contributions. The backcourt of White and Holiday was pivotal with clutch performances. I believe there were arguments that White was our best overall playoff performer and Holiday the best finals performer. But they chose Brown as Finals MVP because easier to market. Also just made possible by the fact that Tatum was shooting inefficiently, but without a doubt still our best player.

For me it's now a similar situation as with Smart. A fan favourite with great years for the Celtics, but the ego has become to big for his role, which unfortunately has started to hurt the team. And therefore a trade is necessary.

Horford, too. He provided a lot of leadership that the team is currently lacking. A Consummate professional.

If we run it back with JB, okay, but I don't think D White is going back to 2024 D White with how his offense has been regressing every season.

We'll also need a big and a Jrue Holiday replacement and some depth. The goal is to take back the East from New York and get ready for Indiana

Tatum had the most points, rebounds, and assists in the finals for the Celtics.  He was the focal point of the Mavs defense.  Him not winning Finals MVP was ridiculous at the time and moreso now.  The only person in Finals history to lead his team in points, reboinds, and assists on the winning team to not win the award is Tatum.  The only arguable more ridiculous Finals mvp was Iguodala winning it over Curry and LeBron.  When the voters get cute and do things that have never happened before, weird things happen and it changes narratives that should never be changed.  Can you imagine historically if Curry was never a Finals mvp despite  being far and away the most critical player on multiple title teams?

All the analytics comment did was expose that analyst and Bobby Marks as fools.  Marks made the PP, KG trade that got us Brown and Tatum.

It got him click bait attention but the  7th best player team stuff is patently absurd.  I get he may not be the most efficient player out there but Marks has an axe to grind with the Celtics.  He is the clown who made one of the worst trades in NBA history.

If picks are the primary want for Brown, this sounds like a rebuild.

Windy says on Get Up that he knows of at least 4-5 teams the Celtics have been talking to on Jaylen and that their primary focus in a deal is draft picks. Said they?re asking for even up to 5 picks in some cases

That is disheartening.

They could always use those picks in a future trade to get an established star rather than picking youngsters to develop out of the draft. Reload the trade coffers for a future move.

I am sure most here won't like a rebuild, but we have lived through quite a few of them.

I do not think we are at that point, yet, I hope.

I mean, it could very well depend on the teams they are talking to, and what they have to offer.  Portland?s large salaries are crap.  If we trade with them, then yes, it should be a lot of picks.  The same is true of Memphis, which would presumably send Morant back as matching salary, Sacramento, which would send Levine, and Chicago and Brooklyn, which could largely absorb Brown through cap space if smaller bad salaries came back.  All of those team the Celtics should be asking for a lot of picks from, and the Celtics are not doing their due diligence if they are not talking to almost every team.

But the Clippers would need to send back Garland or Kawhi as the primary salary.  I would not expect 5 picks to come along as well.  The Nuggets would probably need to send us Murray and Cam Johnson.  I would love 5 picks, but again, not happening.

So it can be true that there are 4-5 teams the Celtics have sought primarily picks for, and also be true that Celtics are not only considering picks.

And it could further be true that the Celtics would send some of those picks to a different team for a more immediately useful player in a multi-team deal.

Sounds like they are cheaping out. Trusting in their management brain power to put together quality supporting casts for Tatum with medium contract vets, small money FAs and young players. That they are not willing to spend big money on multiple stars without being championship favorites.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

it's premature to be throwing "the owners are cheaping" out accusations at this point.  I have little doubt goal #1 this coming season is to stay under the cap and reset the repeater tax penalty.

next year with that penalty reset they should be expended to pony up the cash for players but at that point what tools would Brad have to add top players?
