Is Sam Cassell ready to be head coach?

Id be fine with a rebuild. It wont happen but id be fine with it. It seems like the Jays era is over without much flexibility to improve the roster around them.

They need to reload, not rebuild.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

If not Giannis, I would consider trading White + a future protected pick for Durant if Houston shops him. KD obviously has his risks, but he has a good relationship with Tatum and you're ideally acquiring him to be that closer on offense in the 4th who doesn't rely on the 3, and just a guy who can function as a nice 3rd option that can give you a consistent 18-22 PPG.

They'd still need to add a center but maybe you can find that guy in another trade.

JB would drive KD up the wall with the hero ball and turnovers.

Then it's time KD steal it back from JB and tell him that KD is in charge now

It's going to change-C's have young players that will be better now that they have a year of experience.

If that?s the only change, we are in big trouble.

Young players Game 7:
Luka Garza: 8 minutes, 0 points
RHJ: 4 minutes, 0 points
Scheierman: 22 mins, 0 points
Walsh: 4 mins, 0 points
Hugo: 12 mins, 0 points

Young players right? Sounds like a recipe for disaster moving forward.

I would not be surprised if one of Brown/White is traded.

I also would not be surprised if they run it back one more year to officially ?reset? and then spend big for a couple years.

Feels like now is a decent time to make a move, though.

No, no more running it back. We keep saying that every year for the past 10 years. It's time to depart Jaylen Brown. Send Derrick White with him. Brown just cannot coexist with Tatum because of this my turn your turn dribble offense. And take Joke Mazzulla with them.

The alpha on this team is Jayson Tatum. Bring in some pieces. Giannis. Ring chasing vets and the East will be ours again.

This team isn't really a good team.

We have no bench.

We lost more than half our roster from last season and we lost last year when we had more of a full roster. We should have been adding to last year's roster - but we could not financially afford to add.s

A couple those open shots go in - near the end of the 4th quarter and we still aren't a good team against the Knicks

The new CBA screwed us for sure. We set up a potential dynasty with the Vrooklyn trade, then Hayward snaps his leg. Brad makes a miraculous recovery with the Jrue trade but then dismantles the team shortly thereafter.

And now it feels like we're stuck.

Not just stuck.

We are relying on non-premier young players.

Can they bloom into stars?

If we have a 60 win team, we can afford to have our third & fourth string youngsters play ball.

This regular season, Jaylen played great.

We received wonderful production from White & Pritchard,

They both should be "icing on the cake players."

Because of the new CBS, "non-premier young players" is probably the best we can do. That's actually better than having a bench of older players who have hit their ceiling. It would be amazing if we could have a bunch of premier players who all are satisfied with a minimum contract, but that will never happen. I think Brad has hit it out of the park with the cheaper players. The problem is with the starters.
Jaylen showed himself the better team leader. What can we get for Tatum, a guy who has been injured 3 out of the last 4 playoffs?

I'd say we need to get Giannis if Brad wants to retain Joe and his lengthy contract. Having Giannis means that Joe must modify his offensive philosophy to suit Giannis's strength, which will lead to a reduction of the 3pt attempt, hence more efficient offense.

However, if we can't get Giannis then Joe still has to modify his offensive philosophy since it doesn't fit our personnel. We no longer have Jrue, KP, All (all were efficient shooters) and White, Hauser regressed. Joe needs to fit his offensive philosophy to his players capability, not the other way around.

The last option is to fire him.

Playing Giannis at the 5 and surrounding him with shooters would be deadly. Teams wouldn?t be able to double. JT and Giannis would complement each other well.
