I?m not sure Mara is going to be effective at the next level. I like Reed for UConn more. Stronger, better athlete. Still has good size st 6?11/265lbs

Nah, Mara is definitely better.  His hands are elite, and his passing is a plus.

Reminds me of a young Luke Kornet

Michigan even teaches the Kornet contest.

He?s not even close to being as good of an athlete as Kornet. Closer to Garza.

Dude, you have clearly not watched him.

Watching him right now. Kornet is a much better athlete.

Mara is 7?3 and he has 4 rebs in this game. Reed has 14 boards. Enough said.

Reed went 4-11 in the paint.  There was a reason, and his name was Aday Mara.

8pts/4rebs/1blk in 30 mins of play. For a guy that?s 7?3, not impressive. Mara is a decent college player, but I see him struggling in the NBA. I was going to say that he?d be lucky to carve out a role with a team like Garza did, but Mara can?t shoot and he?s slight for a center at 230lbs. Will be interesting to see how things play out with him, though. Just hope it?s not with Boston.

Dude led the NCAA in block percentage and went 26/9 in the Final Four game on 11-16 for shooting, dominating Motiejus Krivas and Koa Peat, who will both be NBA picks, Peat maybe in the lottery.  You do not know of what you speak.  He is not a finished product, and Mara may not become a star, but he is a way better NBA prospect than Tarris Reed Jr, especially given that Mara is celebrating his 21st birthday today (he is going to have quite the party!) while Reed turns 23 over the summer.  He is an elite shot-blocker, elite finisher at the rim, terrific passer as a big, and runs the floor well.  It is easy to see him excelling in the ways Queta excels on the Celtics.  Luka Garza he is not, at all.

How can you watch Mara and think he is even close to being as good an athlete as Queta? The guy can barely get off the ground. That?s crazy to me. He just happens to be 7?3 so he?s effective in college. Mara is a very average athlete.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Motiejus Krivas

Krivas was so over rated.  I think the same thing is true of Braylon Mullins, he is a volume scorer and over rated.

Reed is projected to us on some draft boards.    I doubt Brad would take him.   He is too good inside, and lacks an outside game and switching ability.  His footwork on offense is very good and he plays a rugged style.

I think Mara will be ok in the NBA, he is a good cutter for his size.   Height is something you can't teach or develop.   He will be bullied and big bodied but he does have good length at 7'6" wingspan and a 33" inch vertical which is over the NBA average of 28".  I don't know if he will become a star but he will have a place at the table.  He will have to work a lot at getting stronger.

I would like to see us end up with a PF this draft.   We have wings galore and often play a wing at the four.

Agreed. Who would you like to see them take?
