Dolphins in full blown tank mode.

Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source.

Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins? 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year?s draft.

Miami receives: Broncos? 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year?s draft.

Does this help the Patriots in a potential AJ Brown trade? I would think so.

Hard to say.  It eliminates a potential competitor for Brown, but also sets the compensation market.   The Eagles are going to want a 1st and a 3rd, at least.

I would do it. Teams around you are getting better (Bills got Moore, Broncos now get Waddle, Chiefs + Ravens + Steelers have improved, etc.) and you basically replaced Diggs with Doubs. Cool, but you still need more, ideally at least one impact WR OR pass rusher (both would be great but I know it's not realistic). AJ Brown is that.

2026 1st (#31) + a future 3rd rounder. Get it done. I also truthfully don't have much faith they can make a significant pick at 31, they'd either have to trade up for it or trade for an established talent. Do the latter which carries less risk for AJ Brown.

It's a deep draft for pass rushers. You can get one in the second round, and still add some O-Line depth in the draft. But AJ Brown is easily the best receiver left in the entire landscape this offseason.

Yes, to me what the Waddle trade does is clearly set the market for Brown.  A first this year and a future 3rd seems about right.  But would Philly have no interest in any of our players?  How about a first and Douglas for example?  Something like that?  I would think an actual useful player would be better for PHI than a future draft pick.

I am still hesitant on Brown.  He really acted up in PHI and then didn't play well in the playoffs.  He has only had over 100 catches once in his career.  He does pile up the yards and touchdowns.  But if right, he is a very good player on a reasonable contract.  If not, he could be a cancer.

A few things to consider here regarding Brown.

1) The pre/post June 1 dead money thing is a real thing.  Eagles would get hammered with a pre June 1st trade to the tune of $43M.  Do they really want to absorb that with a win now team?  I'm leaning No.   So you're not getting a deal done before June 1 which, in turn, means anything 2026 draft related is out of the question.

2)  Patriots have some big extensions come up down the road.  Namely with Maye & Gonzalez.  AJ Brown's extension kicks in the 2027 season (age 30 season).  Serious cap implications are in play here.  Are they gonna tie up another $22M of cap hit with Brown on top of these extensions plus the $20M+ hits they're already getting from M.Williams, Davis, Barmore?
