This is a 35 year old bum center who?s washed up and plays 0 defense, a player bulls fans couldn?t get rid of sooner and on top of it it was money saving move?.and you people are happy?

Meh - that was not the big man upgrade I was hoping for, but I?ll take it, especially without losing an 1st. Interested to see what Joe will do with Vuc?s game.

But, man, we sure do love them white NBA players, eh? 😂

Which big man did you prefer of the ones available?

This feels money motivated to me and reports were the focus was not on getting under the 1st apron.  Vuc is washed IMO.  Plus what 2nd did we give up?  Not a fan.  Wanted a smaller deal for sharpe.  I don't feel this makes us better.  Hate to see Simons go.

I think this deal happened when it did because we were in on JJJ first. They probably wanted Hugo and we weren?t willing to part with him. Maybe we were only willing to trade 2 1sts.

Not a bit fan of Vuc, but it gets us below the first apron, and gets a solid player at a position of need.

Unfortunately, this probably means less of Amari this season.

So this move definitely points to Tatum returning at some point this season now, right?

Yes. Don't make this move sending out scoring if you don't have a good feeling JT is close to returning. Brad just constructed a legit playoff starting 5 if JT returns

This was a money saving move first and foremost. Also even if JT comes back this season he?s not going to move the needle as much as people like you think. It?s going to be a process and I have no idea why anyone would want him to rush back this season

Boston tax bill drops from $39.5M to $17M

They get out of the first apron

More importantly, they are eligible to sign a player waived that had a pre-existing salary of $14.1M plus

Any potential candidates out there?

No one is rushing him back hence me saying IF JT returns...

I am not a big fan, honestly, but I do not hate it either.

We also can absorb Vucevic through the KP TPE and create a larger and longer one with Simons.

This is what I?m thinking they would do? Absorb his 21 mil into the TPE and create a 27 million one with simons and then possibly extend vuc for a lower number for a longer period. I would hate for him to be a three month rental, we may as well get control of him so he could be traded later on if needed.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Does Vuc have enough left to be the second option most nights?  I'd ideally like to shift some of the offensive burden off of White.  May be too much to ask of a 35-year-old center.

Best wishes to Simons.  Hope he finds a long-term role somewhere.

I don't think he can be a 2nd option for a good team on most nights. However, I don't think he was acquired to be that.

If Tatum comes back they have a lineup of pretty elite shooting and rebounding (we'll see about defense):

Pritchard
White
Brown
Tatum
Vucevic

Eh.  We gave up a couple more months of Simons and a second rounder for a guy who should fit very well into our offense.

But unless Tatum is super human hes not going to make a substantial difference this season.
I think vucevic makes us worse as is and simply doesn?t fit the culture unless he?s somehow revitalized and starts playing defense at 35

Does anyone have any info on the second rounders being exchanged? Hope it?s not our New Orleans second rounder this year.

I strongly suspect Q continues to start with Joe now having the option of using either Garza or Vucevic off the bench.  wouldn't be completely surprised to see Garza at some PF with either Q or Vucevic to provide scoring and offensive rebounding that we don't have otherwise at that position

He might not play D but he's also not as washed up as some people on here seem to think.
