With the Bucks potentially trading Giannis, is Milwaukee going to blow it up? Would the Celtics be interested in Turner?

He seems to be having an up and down season but still shoots threes well, blocks and defends.....doesn't rebound well for a big though. Him being 29 fits Tatum/Brown timeline and his salary isn't a total killer at 25mil.

Simons + picks ( their 2nd round pick + a future 1st?) or Bucks want more?

His rebounding is terrible for a man his size.

Can?t stand him. Pop had Jaylen playing center in place of Turner ?cuz he sucked that bad . One of the guys I never believed we had interest in despite persistent rumors. Lazy player. Picks when he wants to give a good effort.

There's a lot of truth here, and I know he hasn't impressed the Bucks (allegedly).  But, if we could get him for only Simons plus 2026 draft picks (our first and/or NOP #2 and/or MIL #2), I think I'd do it.  He'd be a good fit for what Joe wants out of a center, and we'd still be well below the second apron for next year.

if he's having that much of an up and down year with questions around his effort, would we even need to give Mil picks?  I know that's what they'd want more than Simons but no one's questioning Simons effort and he's playing well

I'm not sure what the asking price would be.  They sort of blew up their salary cap by waiving Lillard to acquire him, so maybe just for public relations they need a pick or two to cover their butts.  Plus, when motivated, Turner is a better player and gives us better positional versatility.

But, a pure salary dump wouldn't surprise me, either.

He's a deeply underwhelming player, which is one reason I think the Celtics did not flip Hayward for him a handful of years ago when those rumors were swirling.

I go back and forth, but ultimately, I don't think Stevens would make that trade.

He has consistently targeted highly productive players, great teammates, and winners. Both Mazz and Stevens don't seem to want to take a risk on underwhelming players with tantalizing talent who don't produce.

I don't know about that.  He was an important piece in getting Indiana to the Finals last year.

I went to the NBA website and ranked all centers that played at least 30 games and 20mpg on the basis of their PIE (Player Impact Estimate). Player Impact Estimate aka PIE, is a metric the NBA developed to gauge a player?s all-around contribution to the game. Almost all statistical categories in the box score are involved in the PIE formula. Stats aren't everything but PIE tries to answer the question of what % of the events in a game each player contributed.

Jokic is ranked 1 with a PIE of 22.9 and Wemby is 2 with a PIE of 20.2.

Our $2.5m starting center Queta is ranked 30 with a PIE of 12.4.

Myles Turner, earning $25m this year and $83m the 3 years after that, is ranked 70 with a PIE of 8.9.

I know it's stats, [dang] stats and statistics, and the Bucks have sucked this season, but something doesn't seem to compute if we were to replace Queta with Myles in the starting lineup. And having a $25m player back him up just feels weird.

I suppose one positive in getting him is that he is a Name, which means we might be able to flip him for someone else later on, especially if we're set on trading Simons and getting a return - he's under contract for 4 more years. And he offers a different look to Queta and Garza - both he and Garza are stretch bigs but Myles is more athletic and we probably wouldn't have to play drop coverage with him. If we have no takers for Simons then he's better than nothing, as long as we don't give up any picks for him.

I don't know about that.  He was an important piece in getting Indiana to the Finals last year.

Yeah, he's not a great rebounder, but he also stretches the floor which is part of why he doesn't get as many rebounds. But the guy had 14 blocks over the last 3 games, 2 games had 6 blocks in each.

You're not going to get a Center that can Rebound, score, and block shots at a high level. Queta can't shoot outside 10 feet, Garza can't get off the ground to defend the the rim all the time.

He give you a different look, out side shot and can block shots. Is he my first choice? No. But beggars can't be choosers. And It's shouldn't cost too much if they trade the Greek freak, they'll be in rebuild mode and would like Simmons expiring contract, especially since they are still paying Lillard over the next few years. Perfect for rebuilding.
