I went to the NBA website and ranked all centers that played at least 30 games and 20mpg on the basis of their PIE (Player Impact Estimate). Player Impact Estimate aka PIE, is a metric the NBA developed to gauge a player?s all-around contribution to the game. Almost all statistical categories in the box score are involved in the PIE formula. Stats aren't everything but PIE tries to answer the question of what % of the events in a game each player contributed.
Jokic is ranked 1 with a PIE of 22.9 and Wemby is 2 with a PIE of 20.2.
Our $2.5m starting center Queta is ranked 30 with a PIE of 12.4.

Myles Turner, earning $25m this year and $83m the 3 years after that, is ranked 70 with a PIE of 8.9.

I know it's stats, [dang] stats and statistics, and the Bucks have sucked this season, but something doesn't seem to compute if we were to replace Queta with Myles in the starting lineup. And having a $25m player back him up just feels weird.
I suppose one positive in getting him is that he is a Name, which means we might be able to flip him for someone else later on, especially if we're set on trading Simons and getting a return - he's under contract for 4 more years. And he offers a different look to Queta and Garza - both he and Garza are stretch bigs but Myles is more athletic and we probably wouldn't have to play drop coverage with him. If we have no takers for Simons then he's better than nothing, as long as we don't give up any picks for him.
