****Disclaimer**** I do not think this will happen

I want to repeat that I do not think this happens but I found my self wondering who the out of left field Celtics trade options could be. One name that I came up with was Zion. He is a buy low option who like Porzingis did would raises the ceiling of the Celtics immensely. A trade based around Simons and Hauser can be made to work under the cap. This of course would only be possible if the Pelicans are looking to move on and the market is limited to a point where they settle for fifty cents on the dollar. I don't see how it makes any sense for the Pelicans but maybe the thought of Simons, Hauser and picks moves the needle.

Zion's problem has often been liking his plate better than his sport.   I too, don't think he would be a good idea for the health reasons.   I heard he is down to 264 this year but that is still a lot for  6'6" guy.

He looks fit this year. I think 260lbs is probably about right if you look at his body type. He?s not built like Jaylen Brown who is the same height, but weighs 223lbs.

Zion looks really good. When he plays, that is.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Playing devils advocate health/weight is why the idea of trading for Zion is even slightly possible. If he averaged 65 games a season and stayed a consistent 260 lbs he is a 1st team all nba mainstay.

The game on Zion is a gamble on the next championship. If a healthy closing roster of Tatum, Brown, Zion, White and Pritchard/Wing player is possible I think the rest of the NBA struggles to figure out defending that in a 7 game series.

Hypothetically think of OKC matching up with that lineup.
