PG13 has had two very good games to start the year. Which to me begs the question, how often are we going to rest him? Lol
I was thinking same thing but can we? Bench is not good

There?s an upcoming B2B so I?m guessing JT and PG will each sit a game out.

JB is not a bad guy, but he certainly seems to lack self awareness. I would imagine many of his teammates viewed him like an annoying co-worker that never shuts up. I remember watching this clip of the Celtics at a movie theatre that the team had rented out last year. There was a person interviewing the players while they were getting popcorn/drinks and the individual asked them who they would avoid sitting next to while watching the movie. Almost all of them said JB. It wasn?t mean spirited, but many thought he would just talk through the whole movie or that he would be lecturing them on this and that while they were trying to enjoy the film.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Now that he?s not a Celtic, he is pretty annoying lol

I agree he doesn?t seem like a bad guy. I really can?t say whether he?s liked, disliked, admired, thought poorly of, etc. I can be confident in saying he works hard, and he also seems motivated when he feels he has something to prove, esp emanating from a perception of being disrespected.

I wish he was still a Celtic but now that he isn?t, I don?t really want his team to succeed, and his individual success is not something I care much about.  I don?t think he?ll be booed like Kyrie was, or other *villains* unless he does something on the court worthy of being booed. If he gets overly physical with JT (or anyone) he?ll get booed. If he complains about a call he?ll probably get booed. But just playing his game - I doubt there will be resounding boos. On the other hand if he misses key shots or turns the ball over, I?d guess fans will be cheering a little extra. For JB I would guess booing will be a substantial motivator so I hope fans don?t go there unless he does something egregious. And no doubt he gets a big ovation at the start and during his tribute. He?s clearly a guy who was on his way to number retirement and is more deserving of it than some who are in the rafters.

Besides the Celtics and Lakers being among his top options, Garnett revealed that he considered the Phoenix Suns as well. However, his final decision came after he couldn't reach Kobe Bryant on the phone, stating Bryant acted arrogant, which prompted him to choose Boston instead. "I liked the idea more than the other options I had. I think I had a Phoenix option. I had a Lakers option. Couldn't get Kobe on the phone. He was acting real arrogant. So I was like, 'You know what? I'm just going to [go with] them.' And that's how I ended up in Boston. It was perfect." "I had to holler at Antoine [Walker] before I went to Boston, though. That's when he gave me the lick on P. Like, 'If you're going to play with Paul, Paul cares about these things.' He told me what worked with them and what didn't work, and I took that to heart."

The Kobe thing isn't super surprising to me.  I'd love to hear details on what Antoine said, not only about Pierce, but about the organization and Ainge.

I think that was also right around the time the Kobe/Bulls thing almost happened.

PAYTON PRITCHARD IS at the Celtics bench when he feels a tap on his shoulder. It's late April, and time is running out in Game 3 of the first round of the playoffs. Boston has padded its lead to 103-98 with just over a minute to go, and a win on the road in Philadelphia is in sight. That's what the Celtics usually do, after all: beat the Sixers in the playoffs, every time they've met in the postseason in the past 44 years. Pritchard has rained 3s tonight, five in all, to help with their latest effort, so who knows what kind of Philly-cooked hospitality awaits Pritchard right now. He turns to find a man even shorter than he is -- a rarity for Pritchard on NBA courts -- who is swathed in all black. Black leather jacket, black T-shirt, black baseball cap. It all provides a stark canvas for the man's necklace, a blinged-out Roman numeral III, that glints when it hits the arena lights just right, and -- "Oh, s---," Pritchard thinks. "That's ..." Allen Iverson looks at Pritchard, Pritchard remembers, and says: "You're the coldest white boy I've ever seen."

Fullcourtpass: Jaylen Brown gave the Celtics front office a list of demands and told them to complete them all or trade him, per @Scalabrine.
Brown was pushing for a trade to Milwaukee and even contacted his teammates about trying to team up there. (Via @SiriusXMNBA

Truthfully, what is the point of all of this? How much does it really matter if JT and JB liked each other or if they wanted or didn?t want to continue as teammates?  There was not guarantee of a championship one way or the other. And comments post-trade are really neither particularly clear or particularly horrific pertaining to their relationship or their roles in encouraging a trade.  They are two distinct individuals handling the *breakup* of The Jays in their own way. It was a long partnership with tons of success and various trials and tribulations.  Now they move on as on-court rivals which should bring some extra excitement and energy to the games they play against one another.  There?s nothing bad about that.

TBH, I don?t really care if they were friends, liked each other , were annoyed by each other or harbored deep resentment. Two human beings who shared that much common space over 10 years are bound to have a whole host of mixed feelings, perhaps none of which, in and of themselves, define the relationship.

Interesting to see if the max extension was one of them.

Not sure, But the lack of trade value/interest is making more and more sense.

I doubt the truthfulness of this report. However, it does fit Stevens' MO of not talking bad about his players even after they leave.

If it was true, then Stevens could have saved face by saying that from the beginning, but he didn't, which was selfless of him.
