I am impressed with all 3; Scheierman, Walsh and Gonzalez. They are all making the best of this opportunity. They are all exceeding what I expected from them. The big difference is that Scheierman is 25, where as Walsh is 21 and Hugo only 19. I would have Scheierman behind both, meaning I would cut Scheierman first, if someone had to go.
Not sure I would go as far as saying Scheierman is a wasted pick though. I guess I am not sure what that means. He hasn't panned out and likely won't moving forward (he probably is not on the team next season would be my guess). If anything short of becoming a rotation player is considered a wasted pick, I guess he is. But by that definition, there are a bunch of wasted picks every season by plenty of teams. I don't think Scheierman is the worst pick in that draft's first round.
