Something interesting  about this game?.

Take Cade off the Pistons. They?d be a shambles. No one would bat an eye labeling them a lottery team. Dude is easily a top10 player in the league depending on how much u weight defense. Imagine Thompson trying to be a #1.

Put Tatum on the Celtics. Our size and ball handling problems are significantly less. Our B and B+ players suddenly look like A- players.

Loving the comeback btw?..

Deeply unimpressed with Detroit.

They look a shadow of the team that finished last season.

So why didn't Tillman get any run in this one?  At least he would have given us one more guy who actually boxes out.  As it is, the only guy in tonight's rotation who even tries to box out is Queta.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

AJ Dybantsa is going to look great in Celtic green. :)
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Will be interesting to see how deep of a hole they dig to start the season.

Something like 3-11 or 4-15 (just random records but you get the point) will be tough to come back from. And at that point you're probably better served preserving Brown and White's legs for any future season. Try to see what you have with Minott and Hugo.

Hopefully doesn't get to that point, but they look really really bad out there.

Hopefully Joe will at some point realize the "advantage" he gains by having one additional 3-point shooter on the court is negated by never being able to grab defensive rebounds.

They need to play two big lineups if they want a chance.

Not a win, but I see progress. Offensive rebounding remains the main issue.  People under appreciate Tatums rebounding. Just getting Tatum back next season will go a long way to fixing that problem. There is also a need for a playable big who can rebound but isn?t an offensive liability. That is a current gap, but that seems fixable also, for 2026.

Without checking the stats, it seems to me that defensive rebounding is a big issue too. Joe can kick and scream about it, but this group is simply not capable.

Queta +12 in 26min. 4pts 6rb 3ast 2stl 3blk.

So the team was a -18 in the 22min Queta was off the floor. Queta had 5 fouls. He had 6 fouls in game one. He had 3 fouls vs NYK.

It is looking more and more like Queta will need to give the team 30-36 minutes a game. The backup centers (Garza, Tillman) are just too bad be reliant on for 20-25 minutes a night. Need to cut that in half. I don't care if Queta fouls out. Let him foul out. Let him foul out of every single game this season. Just keep him on the floor for as many minutes as he can possibly give us.

Losing Tatum is what it is, but you can't replace the big rotation of KP/Horford/Kornet with Garza/Boucher/nothing and expect to tread water.  Garza doesn't look like an NBA player imho.  I'm not big on Boucher's game but I do think he needs more than 9 minutes, given the other available options.

Whatever scheme or brain fart keeps leading to Queta gambling for traps/steals 35 feet from the rim, it needs to end.  He got his highlight in this game, congratulations, now plant his ass in the paint.  We are far, far too vulnerable on the glass without him under there taking up space and boxing out.  We're at a disadvantage even with him.

JB did his thing, and good to see Pritchard wake up in this one.  Wish they did it in a win but those might be rare this year - will have to appreciate them when they happen.

I meant giving up ORebs to the other team so we are saying the same thing.  Second chance point for the other team. BOS is giving up way too many.
