Chris Haynes: BREAKING: Utah Jazz star Jaren Jackson Jr. is likely to miss the remainder of the season to undergo surgery on his left knee to ensure his longterm health after a localized PVNS growth was discovered post trade, league sources tell me.

AI says:

Quote
Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS), also known as tenosynovial giant cell tumor, is a rare, benign, but locally aggressive tumor that causes the joint lining (synovium) to thicken and overgrow, typically in the knee or hip. It causes pain, swelling, and reduced range of motion, often requiring surgical removal (synovectomy) due to a high rate of recurrence

That sounds painful as hell.

It'll help that Utah tank job, though.

Ouch.  He did give them a little glimpse into the potential a great fit there though.

I think they're probably perfectly happy with how it works out.  They got to see a little bit of how well he could work with LM and they can still tank.  Doesn't sound like he has any permanent damage from it.
Yup

This is so weird. He passed the physical and then a few days later this condition shows up? At least it makes Utah?s tanking easier.

That feels weird.  Wouldn?t Fox be on a US team while Giannis is on the World Team?

Interesting.  I guess he's their Yabu replacement.

Good fit at PF next to Towns (skilled center).

Bad fit at PF (non-skilled) next to M Robinson (non skilled).

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

What a joke.  The NBA needs to take some action.

What a joke.  The NBA needs to take some action.
NBA won't take the severity of action required to get team management's attention.  For sitting healthy players out of games it would need to be something as severe as refunding half the ticket price to all the game's ticket holders for a first offense, second offense would be full refund, third offense either a suspension for the season of the GM OR forfeiture of the team's first round draft pick, fourth offense would be the flipside of either suspending the GM or the loss of the pick.
