I think they should just do away with the all star game.  Do the rising stars, skills day, and then instead of whatever nonsense they've been doing try something entirely new.  I'd love to see some 3 on 3, 1 on 1, even horse would be far more interesting than the garbage they rolled out last weekend.

Or maybe do an East vs West on Day 3 and winner of the conference determines who gets to host the NBA Finals/home-court advantage. That oughta get everyone engaged right

They just did try something new and it was a much better product.
It was still mostly basketball from players that don't care.  And I know the first 3 games were "competitive" in that they were close, but they just don't play this game like they care at all because they don't. I think they'd care more in a 1 on 1 or even 3 on 3 setting.  I'd love to see a 3 on 3 tournament style thing.  No subs. Play to 11 all shots are 1 point no matter where they take them from.  I think that would get them to compete a bit more and I would find it way more interesting.  Every team with a big, a wing, and a small.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I don't think a lot of guys would play 1-on-1 for the same reason they skip the dunk contest.  Maybe the current wave of upcoming stars are more secure than the LeBron and Durant, but a whole generation of stars declined competition because they might get embarrassed.
