The NBA fined the Philadelphia 76ers $100,000 for violating injury reporting rules when they listed Joel Embiid as "out" against the Atlanta Hawks on Nov. 30 and he subsequently played.

Question:  does the league care about this stuff more for competitive integrity purposes, or to satisfy bettors?

Great question.
the bettors obviously.  you can bet on it  ;)

Somewhere way down on the priority list are the people paying stupid amounts of money to go see the games in person. Including a premium on bigger ticket teams / players.
Yup

Broadcasters too.  There should be some pressure on teams to play the players that can play.  It hurts the broadcasters if teams rest a top player.  But as to last minute changes to the injured list, bettors yes, there is a competitive aspect in terms of the other team also.  They can't let this be the wild west.

Shams Charania: Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be sidelined for approximately 2 to 4 weeks with a right calf strain, sources tell ESPN.

Still, the rest of the league will be monitoring Milwaukee closely. Sources from several teams told ESPN they were meeting soon to discuss a potential trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo, targeting Dec. 15, when players across the league who signed this past offseason can be moved.

The NBA has fined the Cleveland Cavaliers $250,000 for violating player participation policy for not making Darius Garland available for a nationally televised game versus a non-national game.

Man I miss Kornet.  Watching highlights from his ?game saving block? and press conference after.  He was such an enjoyable guy to watch play and see develop.  He?d be perfect for on the Celtics now.  I?m happy to see him continue to do well on a good team, but it?s stinks it?s not here.

That was a helluva play he made last night.  Came out of nowhere.  I do miss him too.

Awesome play! I wish he were still on the Celtics, but I'm glad he's enjoying success and is helping the Spurs.

Spurs - 15 wins and 6 losses

With Wemby - 8 wins and 4 losses
Without Wemby - 7 wins and 2 losses

That is impressive. Well done San Antonio for doing so well without Wemby in the lineup.

Fox was out to start the year and came back right before Victor started missing games. Believe Fox and Wemby played just one game together this year.

If it's closer to the 4-week absence, then Giannis will be hard pressed to make the 65-game minimum required for All-NBA consideration. And even if he's not traded it would probably be a death blow to the Bucks postseason chances.

Celtics play the Bucks 12/11 so he'll be out ofr that game. helps the C's a bit.

Austin Reaves gets the kind of superstar calls that Jaylen apparently can't...  ::)

And he had the ball in his hand with time winding down in a tie game and he passed it for an open 3 and the win.

That said, he was 4 of 17 in the game, so it isn't like he didn't have his opportunities.

No Luka and they beat the Raptors in Toronto.  Excellent win for them.

I saw the streak started before the Iphone launched, and before Rodgers threw his first TD. Also Flagg was 15 days old.

Love him or hate him, his longevity is simply astounding.
