They could very well be the last undefeated team in the East! Cavs have now dropped 2 in a row and are ar 3-3. The East is gonna be crazy this year.

It might be an anomaly, but since Thibs has been sacked, the Knicks have been bleeding points.

They are averaging 115.4 opponent points per game.

Giddey a beast!

He really is. In tonight?s win over the Knicks, Giddey had 32pts/10rebs/9ast with 0 TO?s. 12-21 from the field.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Doncic is averaging 45pts/12rebs/8ast on 58/35/79 shooting splits.

Also, apparently Luka grew as he is now listed at 6?8.

Luka 1st player since Wilt to score at least 40 in each of his first 3 games of a season. Wilt did it twice and each time went past 3 games (5 and 7)
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Trae Young gonna miss at least a month with an MCL injury.

I had Atlanta as a 6 seed but that was also with the idea of KP + Trae playing a "good enough" amount of the season (even if it was just around 60-70%). Now idk. KP has already missed a few games with some "illness" and doesn't have the kind of "durable" health history to begin with either.

Atlanta won the other night without Trae (7min only). They played

G: NAW, Keaton Wallace
G: D Daniels
F: Z Risacher, L Kennard
F: Jalen Johnson, Okongwu
C: Porzingis, Mo Gueye

Tha was their 9 man rotation without Trae.

An interesting starting unit with NAW in there. Light on offensive creativty but heavy on defense. That is a fantastic defensive backcourt with NAW and Dyson Daniels. Good defensive forward combo. Highly athletic and long 1-4. With a long shot blocking center in Porzingis. They will be a difficult team to play against.

I don't know much about Keaton Wallace. He is an unknown. They will need 20mpg out of him. If he can be solid for them, that is a fine 9 man rotation. If he cannot give them solid minutes, that team looks like it could fall apart whenever the starters go off the floor. Just not enough guard depth.

Risacher is athletic enough to play SG minutes. Let Okongwu play more PF minutes and give Mo Gueye more minutes. Let Jalen Johnson shift down to SF at times. That is another way to work around the lack of quality bench guards.

Jalen Johnson was already their primary ball-handler when Trae was off the floor last year. He usually ran the 2nd unit as the PG. Then they played guards who were more off-ball guys. So his ball-handling and passing ability at PF gives them a major asset in working around the lack of offensive creativity in the backcourt (NAW, D Daniels).

They might be able to still play at a .500 level with Trae. If those guys commit. Play hard D. Use their athleticism.

Pacers got their 1st win of the season. That leaves New Orleans and Brooklyn as the only teams left without a win.

On that Ja Morant fallout from the other day

Suspension comes as a result of Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo challenging Morant's leadership and effort in a postgame exchange after loss to the Lakers on Friday night -- to which Morant responded in a tone deemed inappropriate, sources said.

Ja Morant's coach held him accountable for playing like crap and he pouted. I'd argue this will be an encouraging development over time. Morant needs someone in his life to call him on his BS. Doesn't appear to be anyone in his inner circle willing to do it.

A visibly annoyed Ja Morant said "Go ask the coaching staff" when asked about what went wrong for him tonight.

Asked what the team could have done better, he said "according to them, probably don't play me," apparently alluding to something that had been said in the locker room

Some arguing JJJ quit on the team too. Team up double digits at half time. Morant scoreless 2nd half. JJJ 2pts. Both looked disengaged.

I am surprised Morant is having problems with the coach. I thought the coach was famous for having a high paced offense and had a lot of success with a speedy ball-handling PG. You would think his system / ideas would fit Morant well.
