Zion Williamson, hear me out!

Okay, Many of us want to trade A Simons. I still want to see him play. Well how about this, we let Simons start the season and let's say he puts up some good numbers.
Then, we put a package with him in it for Zion Williamson.  Here is the thing, the Pelicans drafted Queen, who looks like he can fill Zion's role.  Zion can't stay on the court. So, why do it for us? I would be willing to take a chance on Zion and this seems like the Perfect season to do it. Roy and others can weigh in on his contract, but I thought I read the last 3 years are now not guaranteed because of all the games he missed. If that is true, let's take a swing for the fences and see if our team can help him stay on the court. When healthy he is an incredible talent and would fit amazing with the Js.

I think NOP would probably do better than our offer, but sure, I'd take him on at a modest price.  Simons + Hauser + Tillman + picks works.

Thanks Roy!! This seems like the Perfect year to do this! What else do we have to do? Rooting for Zion to stay healthy would be scary and fun all at the same time!!

I'd be reluctant to part with more than 2 picks and I'd like some protection.  It's just too much risk for a guy that will most likely not be able to stay on the court.

it's somewhat similar to the idea of when we got Zinger -- move decent players for someone who could be a dynamic piece in a championship drive if they can stay on the court. 

I get the allure but when Zinger was acquired the team had more depth than they do now and Zinger was looking healthier than he had in quite awhile which cannot be said for Zion.  Using what little depth we have for what could be a big swing-and-a-miss on Zion would be a real setback with even less assets to improve the team. 

a healthy Zion has them as a top team in the East in 26-27.  An injury-riddled Zion puts them in the dreaded treadmill position of good enough to be a low-level playoff team saddled with middling draft picks unlikely to turn into the next star player they need or to become more than an end-of-rotation player

Injury prone players are always healthy at the least important times.  Of course he?d be healthy during a throw away season and promptly tear his acl right when we?re all in on a title run the following year.
