The fun thing about this season is that no one had expectations. I think most reasonable expectations had them around 7-9 win if things broke right. Hell, we had people on here screaming tank a couple of weeks into the season. But no one, in their right mind, could've seen this team as a potential #1 seed in the AFC with a honest shot at HFA in the playoffs.
The ride can be a lot more fun when a team with zero expectations all of sudden is exceeding all expectations. The Brady era was an absolutely blast to live thru but it became "Super Bowl or bust" every season. This isn't like that.
There's also excitement in the fact that the knowledge that this team's rebuild is ahead of schedule. I would imagine most people had eyes on 2026/2027 and not 2025. In that aspect, it's similar to how 2001 unfolded. That team was also ahead of schedule. I don't know what this team's ceiling at this point and not saying it'll be a repeat of 2001, but it's an exciting time to be a Pats fan and this season has been really fun to watch. Especially Maye.
