Idk if people care much, but Maye is probably gonna be the MVP favorite after today especially after Buffalo also lost to Miami and Allen looked bad.

I think Stafford - who is playing now might be slightly in the drivers seat. ????  But Maye is right there.

I still am not sure what to make of this Patriots team. They keep winning, but there are still a lot of flaws. All the teams seemed flawed though. It is a strange season for the Patriots and the league.

Keep expecting the wheels to fall off a bit. Felt that way when TB scores with ease on their first possession.  But they?ve fallen behind a lot this year early.

At this point in the season what matters most is that they?re getting W?s and staying healthy.

Just keep improving and we?ll see! Exciting time for sure.

Any wins for them this season is a plus whether it's great wins or ugly wins. It's all a learning experience.

Important part is staying healthy.

Just wished Elliot made moves during the trade deadline to improve the roster. We've seen "lesser teams"/unexpected teams go on cinderella Superbowl runs and winning it all, why can't we? 2010 Packers, 2011 Giants, 2012 Ravens, 2015 Broncos (bad QB but vaunted defense), etc. Even the 2018 Patriots team wasn't that stellar, but the QB was and got it together towards the end of year.

The defense still worries me a bit. The run defense is great but the pass defense and secondary can be shaky. They've managed to hold on or at least "bend but not break" a bunch of times but the dam could break at some point. That said, 12-5 feels realistic for this team and honestly most of the AFC this year is just flawed. I'm not even sold on KC, if KC makes it back to the SB it'll likely be because the rest of the conference is inconsistent but they haven't looked good either. Buffalo as well and they had a terrible loss today. Baltimore will be dangerous but I still think their defense is shaky too. Denver just barely beat the Raiders at home where Nix was honestly terrible. Same with the Colts, they've looked a lot more human the past two weeks. Probably close to losing today as well before winning in OT behind Taylor

Pats are a solid playoff team that because of other team's issues very well could win the division and maybe even earn the bye. The AFC is very weird this year.  Could go on a playoff run if the bracket breaks right for them.  Maye is the real deal and that helps a lot.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Kinda reminds me of the 2016-2017 Celtics for comparisons. Those Isaiah Thomas days. Overachieve, 1 seed but maybe eventually get curbstomped by KC or Baltimore in the AFCCG

I just hope we are not the Washington Commanders. One good schedule aided season and then crash.  I do not think so but there are similarities. Pats need to keep building. Do not get too high on this success. Build on it.

I think this is a 10 or 11 win team, that as others have said may do much better because of the schedule.

They could easily be at 11 wins before they get to their bye week.

As a Washington fan, you definitely want to learn from us crashing and burning this year from thinking we were ready to compete rather than needing to continue to fill out a good roster

Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant in terms of talent/ or a year with a normal schedule. I agree, this team could theoretically win 13 or 14 games this year.

The issue is, you don't know what the schedule is going to look like, from a strength perspective.  Who would've thought teams would've regressed like they did.  If they played KC, would people think they played a tougher team?  Well KC is 5-4, Carolina is 5-5, not having a bye yet.

You can only play the teams on the schedule.  I bet, in '08, when Brady went down, people thought, great, Pats will be weaker.  Well, they still won 11 games!
