Absolutely ridiculous that Belichick didn't make the hall of fame.

People made it personal.  There's no universe where his on field merits aren't good enough to justify immediate induction on the first ballot.

Thought there would have been more. 

Only five NFL coaches have been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility: George Halas, Vince Lombardi, Tom Landry, Don Shula, and Chuck Noll.

Not surprised BB didn't go in first ballot. Media hated him and then there are the cheating scandals (even though every team was doing the same things  ).

Probably saw that Brady was the one carrying the load in New England and not Belichick. That had to play a factor.

It appears there were a couple very vocal critics of Bill because of the 2 cheating scandals that felt he shouldn't be in on the 1st ballot and swayed others to vote that way.  He will probably get 50 of 50 votes next year.
