The Aces swept the Mercury to win their 3rd title in 4 years and I'm not sure anyone saw it or cares.  That is the real problem for the league i.e. that even when viewership is up (over a million watched each of first 3 games), no one talks about the sport.

The ratings are up, again, the league has problems for sure, popularity is not one of them.

Record breaking ratings, attendance numbers, valuations, etc. People seem to care and are paying attention, maybe not in your circles, but it's happening.

Personally, I could talk about the sport, I just don't talk about it here because this isn't the most captive audience for it (and I haven't been online here as much recently), and I don't want to be that one guy spamming a thread. A lot of interesting things went on this season though I would have enjoyed discussing with people here.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

After the Aces won game 3, I checked the ESPN homepage and it was switching between saying the Aces won the series to the Aces lead the series. It was like that all night.

In other words, experts on the WNBA did not even know what the deciding game was of the most important game of the WNBA season.

It's just not a compelling product yet. I think there are things happening that can get it there, but it just hasn't captured the American imagination. And the one player that does capture the attention, many WNBA players and former players despise.
