I love how European players know how to make a post entry pass. Hugo with 4 assists, leading the team.

Hugo has a great frame for his age. There are little flashes of talent, but he's a big high hustle wing right now. Im excited to see how he develops.

Id rather have Bassey or Lofton over Tillman.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Hugo's defense on that possession was awesome. Chased the point guard all over the court, around screens, hassling him, and forcing a pass out for a bad last second shot. Great individual defensive possession.

Hugo is so raw. There is no way he?s playing for the C?s this year. It?s Spain or Maine.

Disagree

How? He doesn?t look good on either end. Looks OK on defense, wouldn?t say good. Terrible offensively. Can?t shoot at all.

You are just wrong here. He's made 2 threes so far. You can't say "Can't shoot at all" when he's made 2 threes.

And his defense on Jaylen Wells has forced 1-6 shooting with 2 TOs. So his defense has been good.

He?s 3-11 from the field.  1-5 from the line. Like I said.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Lol - 2-4 from 3. He's missed some bunnies/floaters he should have made in this second half. Not really concerned about it.

Huge Gonzales shot looks dodgy as advertised. Scared to take pull-up jumpers when they are open. Ugly attempts on floaters / runners. It is either a wide open 3 or an attempt at the rim. It is not just that he is missing these in between shots. It is how little confidence he has to even take them.

That all said, Hugo is going to play this season. He is too good not to play. He does too many other things well. He will be a great team player.

I'd put Hugo ahead of Scheierman and J Walsh in the depth chart at this point. Only behind Hauser. If Hauser starts, Hugo will be the 1st wing off the bench. If Hauser comes off the bench, Hugo will be the 2nd wing off the bench.

Only saw the second half but I thought his offense looked pretty good honestly. He seemed to do a good job getting where he wanted to go and made some nice passes. 4/12 shooting with 1/5 from the line is bad, but in a one game sample I care much more about how a player looks rather than shooting which is really high variance in a one game sample.

Defensively I was hoping coming from Europe he'd be more disciplined.

Hopefully the lack of discipline and missed free throws were just excitement playing his first game.

I am not sure where I am with Amari.

Positive signs: Legit NBA size & athleticism. Plays with effort on defense.

Negative signs: Reaches too much on defense. Tries to play at a guard's level (stabbing at the ball) instead of staying big / vertical on the play. Looks undisciplined defensively. Has potential but bad habits that will need to be ironed out.

I was surprised not see him on the boards more. I didn't notice him doing anything wrong watching the game but I was noting that he didn't seem to be grabbing any of these defensive boards which you'd expect a guy with his size & athleticism in this setting to do.

He didn't pose much of a problem as a rim roller. He was there. He was okay. But he didn't worry the opponent. Bassey looked more dangerous rolling to the rim. He rolled hard and fast. Amari didn't. Bassey caused problems. Amari rarely did.

Did we watch the same game? Walsh is leagues ahead of Hugo. Jordan was the best player in this game.

Kenny Lofton looks like a guy that is only useful when he is allowed to monopolize the ball. When he isn't, he looks like he will be a net negative.

And he isn't skilled enough as a scorer to justify letting him monopolize the ball at the NBA level. He looks a waste of a SL spot. Stopping others from getting an opportunity. A SL warrior NBA pretender.

I haven't seen the whole the game. Tuned in late 1st half.

Jordan Walsh has looked fine to me but nothing special. Not making much of an impact as a defender, rebounder, ball-handler, or passer. Making shots he should make. Decent but not that impressive for a 2yr NBA player in SL. Just making correct basic decisions.

He is normally more disruptive with his hustle. I saw less of that today. That is okay. We know what he brings to the table there.

Bassey 11 rebounds in 18 minutes
Amari 3 rebounds in 21 minutes

Something to watch out for in rest of SL with Amari.

Thought Hugo and Walsh looked great. Hugo is going to get playing time from day one if he brings the sort of intensity he brought today.

Thought Lofton looked awful. He's the kind of guy who will be good in overseas league but has no place in the NBA because the bets parts of his game are things he just isn't good enough to do in the actual NBA.

Bassey was intriguing.
