Tony Parker, 2001 Draft, 28th overall.
That year the C's took Joe Johnson @ 10, Kedrick Brown @ 11, and Joe Forte at 21.
Man it killed me when we traded Joe Johnson!!
I?ve hated Chris Wallace forever for that draft and for his later trade as Memphis GM of Pao Gasol to the Lakers.
Trading up to get the prize of that draft, the very same Pao Gasol, was likely possible - would have also prevented Pao to Lakers. But Wallace missed on getting Parker, relying on Red, but also missed another *2nd lottery* 2nd round classic in Gilbert Arenas (31l)
Can?t ever expect a perfect draft, but Joe Johnson, Parker, and Arenas would have been a nice talent infusion. Or trade the picks for 1, 2, or 3 for Gasol. I bet Washington would love to have made that trade in retrospect.
Edit - and the most frustrating thing about the Joe Johnson trade was that according to reports they would have taken Kedrick Brown.
